It will be interesting to see. So far the left seems to be more than ready to shower the whole nation with hostility and violence. I can only imagine what they'll be like when they have some real power. Will they discard the street-level thugs? Or hire more? I wonder if any of them realize that of all the people they have injured, none of them was Trump. But then, I've never considered people who go around looking for fights as being all that bright in the first place. However, they can still be quite dangerous. It's like a child's anger and intellect in an adult body from what I see in the news. Who knows? Maybe they actually will find a way to beat their opinions into other people's heads. It works in prison!
Twisted facts, wishful thinking, and fear-mongering by Trump who sounds like he is becoming increasingly desperate as mid-terms approach. People will supposedly be struck by violence if his party doesn't do well in mid-terms. In his typical narcissistic fashion, he has said that he thinks the stock market will crash and everyone will be poor if he is impeached. Similar to how he mistakenly claimed during that event that he had effectively repealed the Johnson Amendment, Trump started up again on his notion that he ended what he perceives to have been a ban on saying Merry Christmas. Heaven forbid if conservative evangelicals lose that precious gift that he has bestowed upon them.
Add to the list of wishful thinking Trump's notions that he is actually now building his wall and that he has provided great healthcare to everyone via his sabotaging of the Affordable Care Act and failing to build a coalition to implement a legislative alternative to it (destroy now, let someone else fix later). Trump needs to dream up more faulty notions about how he has supposedly succeeded at infrastructure, trade, and immigration reform.
That's been the approach of Trump during his presidency after a campaign where he billed himself as the 'I alone can fix it' candidate.
Judging from Charlottesville 1 and subsequent encounters, most of the thugs and violence, certainly the homicide, were coming from the right. Statistically, "the Left" poses less danger. The hype about potential violence from it is fear mongering--part of a desperate Republican effort to get out the vote in November.
Trump is claiming that Google searches of his name are rigged to show only bad news. Larry Kudlow, one of Trump's economic advisors, says that the administration is now taking a look at if and how Google should be regulated by the government. Trump’s economic adviser: ‘We’re taking a look’ at whether Google searches should be regulated
The thing that sucks about this is I already figured they were slanted, not only about Trump (he's an easy target), but about politics in general. The problem I have is that if they don't show the dirt on both sides, we Americans will become victim to the dirt of one side o the other. And in politics nobody's shit smells like roses.
Trump is using his conspiracy-flavored persecution ploy again followed by his usual threats (like those he has issued to Amazon, the USPS, Harley-Davidson, Mexico, Chicago). Trump threatens Google, calls negative search results about him “illegal” Trump is now going after Google based on the meritless claim that the site is rigging its algorithm against him by Matthew Rozsa August 28, 2018 4:18pm (UTC) Trump threatens Google, calls negative search results about him “... excerpt: "While it is unclear what prompted Trump to make this claim, it is reminiscent of an article published two days earlier by the conservative outlet PJ Media which had the headline "96 Percent of Google Search Results for ‘Trump’ News Are from Liberal Media Outlets," according to The Washington Post. Trump has, on a number of previous occasions, unquestioningly bought into stories from less than reputable right-wing media outlets, from regurgitating a meritless talking point by Tucker Carlson about whites being persecuted in South Africa to praising notorious conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for having an "amazing" reputation. What makes this development different, however, is the fact that Trump isn't just praising and uncritically promoting right-wing propaganda; he is actively pondering using the government to force tech giants to show them preferential treatment. When asked if the Trump administration is thinking of regulating tech companies to help right-wing sites, Trump's economic adviser Larry Kudlow said, "We’ll let you know. We’re taking a look at it.""
Nobody said they were peaceful. What I said was they were less violent than their right-wing counterparts. https://www.snopes.com/news/2017/08/17/are-antifa-and-the-alt-right-equally-violent/ Of the 372 killings in the United States at the hands of extremists, nearly three-quarters were victims of right-wing extremists; 2% died at the hands of left-wing extremists. .Right wing groups, especially the Oath Keepers and the militias, are more likely to show up carrying firearms. Antifa, more accurately the violent faction within Antifa, is mainly into fist fights, skirmishes, hurling bottles of piss, and other non-lethal violence. None of these groups so far represents a sizeable percentage of the American population. Antifa tends to be concentrated on the West Coast. No one around here has seen hide nor hair of them. So I think the Prez, true to form, is engaging in hyperbole to scare the base. Why would "the left" get violent if the Democrats gained in Congress? It makes no sense. Can you think of any other President in the history of the United States who used the "bully pulpit" to enflame hatred and fear by one group of Americans against another?
"In the Interest of Those who Govern": America's ‘New’ Border Crisis - It's Going Down An extensive analysis about how repressive policies from both corporate parties have helped to manufacture the current crisis around deportations and “lost” children at the border. And thanks to the anti-fascists for cleaning up the streets of the racist scum! 494 pages of debate, crazy.
Trump thinks that the act of flipping against Trump should be made illegal, even when the crimes to which Cohen pleaded guilty weren't really crimes, in Trump's mind. If Trump is convicted of collusion, he's innocent because collusion, in Trump's mind, isn't a crime. Even if it was a crime, he's still innocent because he thinks he didn't commit collusion. Obstructing justice isn't a crime if Trump is being investigated for a crime that, in Trump's mind, he didn't commit. Obstruction is also not a crime if Trump is being investigated for a crime that, in Trump's mind, is not a crime, regardless of whether or not he committed it. Trump thinks he is promoting American-owned businesses by using trade policies that hit American-owned Harley-Davidson with fees and taxes and by giving incentives to foreign-owned motorcycle companies to come to the U.S. All of this is for the sake of Trump retaliatating against H-D (and anyone else who Trump thinks usurped his perceived infinite authority) for its moves to try to protect itself against the damaging effects of Trump's tariff wars which were supposed to help H-D in the first place.
