Trump has few conventional options to extricate himself from the dilemma in which he placed himself over his wall money. His prime-time live national TV address on Jan. 8, 2019 had no substance.

He wasn't able to secure his wall money for two years when Republicans controlled both the House and Senate.

It leaves the possibities of him giving more empty statements or resorting to circumventing Congress by declaring an emergency and using the military.

Trump teases 'major announcement' about shutdown on Saturday

    excerpt:

"The message raises the possibility that the president is planning to declare a national emergency to circumvent Congress and win funding for his wall — while ending the partial government shutdown at the same time.

Trump has repeatedly flirted with the idea of declaring a national emergency, though this week he seemed to back away from that proposal, which some critics warned could set a negative precedent."

Considering how he likes the hostage tactic so much, Trump could resort to holding himself hostage by going on live TV with a gun pointed to his head and threatening that he will end it all if he doesn't get U.S. taxpayer money for his wall.

The left and the liberal media’s hatred for the president has them completely out of their minds and off their game. It’s a bizarre phenomenon and amazing to watch.

Mueller disputes some aspects of Buzzfeed's account of the Trump Cohen Russia connection.
But he won't say which aspects.
    Buzzfeed stands by its story:

I think Trump was acting in a odd fashion when he claimed Muslim prayer rugs were found strewn along the border. He has repeatedly claimed Muslims are crossing the border right along with the Mexicans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, and the Salvadorans. Your Pal Trump has not supplied any evidence to support his ridiculous claims. There have been no arrests of Muslims who crossed the border after abandoning their prayer rugs. If in fact Muslims bring prayer rugs to America, they would be bringing something of great religious value and to them it would be a religious violation to leave such a thing on the ground at the border. I say your Pal Trump is making racist claims to enrage his voter base which is made up mostly of Klansmen offspring. Trump and the Republicans are members of the Invisible Empire of the Ku Klux Klan...anti-immigrant all the way Jose! We don't call it Invisible for nothing...Yasser! Go back to San Luis Potosi without your Mommy, Soccoro!

MeAgain, to me the entire event smells of a trap. The un-corroborated Buzzfeed piece gives Trump and Giuliani cause to attack Mueller over leaks. I've asked my self about the party which had most to gain from this. I still can't say! Trump, I know, does not want Cohen talking in front of Elijah Cummings who keeps going forward like a slow D-9 Caterpillar dozer. Trump is desperate enough to pay people to say things, like the time a sex allegation showed up against Mueller...from a Trump supporter. Barr might call Mueller to the carpet when confirmed by McConnel, over leaks?

trump never backs up his comments with facts, because he doesn't have any. if there were muslims crossing the border, why would they abandon their prayer rugs? makes no sense. trump is just a dumbfuck.

The revealing words Trump said about Pelosi's trip
By David Axelrod, CNN Senior Political Commentator
Updated 7:11 AM ET, Sat January 19, 2019

The revealing words Trump said about Pelosi's trip - CNN

    excerpt:

"I had the privilege of joining President Barack Obama in 2010 on his first visit to Afghanistan as commander in chief -- a journey I'll never forget.

Air Force One corkscrewed into the war-torn country unannounced and under the cover of darkness. We shuttled to Kabul on Blackhawk helicopters, with gunners poised to return hostile fire. The President and his delegation met for hours with their Afghan counterparts. Then we returned to Bagram Air Base, where Obama offered words of encouragement and appreciation to our troops.

The visit seemed to mean a lot to those splendid young Americans, who were risking their lives for our country half a world away. I know it meant a lot to the President, who saw it not as a "public relations event" but as his sacred obligation as commander in chief.

Maybe it's because our current President views such visits -- and virtually everything, for that matter -- as mere "public relations events" that he has yet to visit Afghanistan and our 14,000 troops there.

Or maybe he just fears going where other leaders have dared to tread. Trump, who won a deferment from service in Vietnam due to "bone spurs," described his much less risky Christmas Day trip to Iraq as if he were a hero in "Top Gun." And he has said he knows "more than the generals.""

Trump's inability to keep his mouth closed is one of his tragic flaws. The Stormy Daniels saga is an example. Trump couldn't keep quiet about it, starting with his initial foolish remark on Air Force One to a press pool . Each version he gave contradicted the previous one. His attorney eventually pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations and said it was done at the direction of Trump.

Trump does the work of the prosecutors for them.

Giuliani is much the same and sounds like a prosecutor instead of Trump's defense attorney. The two of them together are like two dogs going in circles chasing each other's tails.

Giuliani didn't waste time in blaming leaks for the Buzzfeed piece. I think the Trump team is getting real desperate and would resort to unusual options. I sure McConnel has informed them that after the 2020 elections, there won't be too many Repukes in elected positions, thanks to Trump's mouth.

What the presidents legions of detractors don’t see is that they have made him an underdog. Regular people love to root for the underdog. They are inadvertently making him into a folk hero. If he’s not taken down, and it seems more likely he won’t be, he will have become just about unbeatable.
