I agree completely, Soul...and want to add if we had Official English in America, most of Trump's followers couldn't get a job!

LOL - Couldn’t they just buy a tiki torch it would be a lot cheaper

So do we think they know it’s a big waste of money but they want it anyway and are happy to see others suffer to force the rest of the Americans to pay for it (rather than Mexico)?

the wall is more of a trump legacy thing. I don't think it will ever get built, but if it does, then trump can say he came thru with his promise.

Apparently, it can be done. Never underestimate the ingenuity of hordes of drug smuggling sex crazed rapists funded by George Soros. An alternative might be to dig under it or climb or fly over it. Maybe we need to attach a steel roof and floor to that fence.

That's my estimation. I don't think they care about the financial ramifications at all. They want the symbolism of it.

Those numbers do not convince me. The two party divide is deep in this country. Right now people are upset. But times heals all wounds. If Trump does not fuck up for a few months the spin an be "he's so presidential now. He has learned in his first term. We need him with all the socialists coming! This is not the time to be a bad Republican".

This angle worked for him last time. He's not Hillary so he's good. And since it's a poorly educated voter the economy is not the result of trade wars and shut downs it is the result of Cortez like economic policies which take over the goverment.

People are so used to the douche and turd choice in this country they will accept it. As bad as he is harvests the tears of liberals. The guys who make me cry since I have to bake any cake. He still has support. Unless Sanders runs the Demarcates have no one.

When Trump did smear campaigns before he became president, like the one he did on his ex-wife, he would hide behind fake names like John Barron (later to become the name of his son). This time his target was Pelosi instead one of his ex-wives.

Chris Matthews: Trump made Pelosi, Dems look like ‘fools’ who were ‘sneaking out of town’

    excerpt:

"“[Democrats] were in the bus heading to Joint Base Edward — Andrews,” Mr. Matthews said. “He made them look like fools sitting in the Capitol at the driveway basically trying to figure out what’s coming next. He caught them in the act as if they were sneaking out of town and made them look stupid. I mean, it clearly, well, it looked like a political dirty trick to me.”

Ben Rhodes, who served as an adviser to former President Barack Obama, could not fathom his old boss resorting to political vindictiveness.

“All kinds of Republican critics traveled to war zones while President Obama was in office, and he thought that was an important property of their responsibilities,” he said, NewsBusters reported. “I’m trying to imagine the discussion in the White House where they decide ‘oh, we have to get Pelosi back for what she did’ and someone is scouring the schedule and somehow thinks it’s a good idea to embarrass Speaker of the House and to deny our troops that expression of support from the third-ranking person in line to the presidency in our system. It’s really sophomoric and it sends a horrible message to the world watching the shutdown and thinking, ‘what’s going on in the United States of America?’"

Seriously? From all the fuss about sexism and harassment in his 2016 campaign, I think his allure for the left may be fading. At 79, he'd be a bit long in the tooth, and a Jewish Socialist from New York and New England would face strong head winds in the Red states. Kamala Harris just declared, and there are now more than two dozen Democrats besides him in the race.

Bloomberg might run as a democrat. He'd be a centrist, and has way more expendable cash than trump.
My first choice is Biden, although I think he is too old.

He is still very popular. Although he's old there are not many examples of people not owned by corporations. I mean look at how upset Ocasio-Cortez gets her own party. Look at how they shut down Bernie.

The voters demand soclaist taxes and benefits. He is the only one prepared to go that far.

I feel ya. Bernie is a good candidate. Tried and true. But is he a good Democrat candidate? I don't know if democrats will trust him because he is usually thought of as Independent of either party. It would be nice to have him though.

Hey every one! You'd better sit down first! I just saw on TV, Trump & Pence, the two most racist anti-civil rights jerks on God's Green Earth, visit the MLK memorial!

Trump sees the wall as a monument to himself
Analysis by Gloria Borger, CNN Chief Political Analyst
Updated 12:27 PM ET, Tue January 22, 2019

Trump sees the wall as a monument to himself - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"Consider this from Trump during the campaign in 2015, explaining the rationale for his favorite edifice:

"What I do best in life, I build. ... I want it to be so beautiful because maybe someday they'll call it 'The Trump Wall.' Maybe. If they call this 'The Trump Wall,' it has to be beautiful."

There you go. The wall, for the President, is a monument. To himself. A visible legacy of his achievement; an example of what he considers himself best at: building and branding. It's not like tax reform or trade policy. It's actually concrete (or slats) and there for all the world to see as a Trump achievement. Even when he leaves the Oval Office. And way beyond.

If he could put his name on it in gold filigree, he would. But maybe calling it The Trump Wall is good enough.

This is not new for Donald Trump. His life has always been about the theatrical product. "It's like the curtains opening at an opera," says biographer Michael D'Antonio. "It's like a piece of scenery for his show.""
