Supreme Court looks likely to pass on DACA case that Trump predicted would strengthen his hand in shutdown talks - President Donald Trump's expectations that the U.S. Supreme Court would hand him a win in negotiations over the ongoing partial government shutdown now look likely to come to nothing. - The justices on Tuesday took no action on a case before them concerning the legality of the administration's decision to end the Obama-era immigration policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. - The inaction effectively allows the program to continue, reducing Trump's already limited leverage in a high-stakes impasse over money for his proposed border wall. I've never understood the idolatry of giuliani. what has he done other than being mayor of nyc during 9/11? bfd

He earned a reputation for prosecuting the Mafia. Today, his memory cells must be deteriorated, or he's just being disruptive at Trump's request. There are photos of him dressed in drag on an outing with Trump. Pics are from about 13 0r 14 years ago. Rudy must like a stiff one from time to time?
Mitch McConnell ends up filibustering his own suggestion. Mitch McConnell filibusters himself after Dems call bluff GlobalPost By Kaitlin Funaro GlobalPost December 07, 2012 · 1:18 PM UTC https://www.pri.org/stories/2012-12-07/mitch-mcconnell-filibusters-himself-after-dems-call-bluff excerpts "According to the Huffington Post, McConnell was betting that some Democrats would vote against the move, "which would have allowed McConnell to portray President Barack Obama's desire for such authority as something even Democrats opposed." He also hoped it would show disunity among Democrats. But Democrats soon realized a way to turn the tables and decided to call McConnell's bluff, saying that voting for a permanent solution to the debt ceiling was the fiscally responsible thing to do." "McConnell was forced to turn around and say "I object," filibustering his own suggestion."

The shutdown is another example of a Trump-initiated ego battle like the ones he has been doing for decades, such as the standoff he initiated against the city of Palm Beach for his oversize flagpole and flag which was a ploy to get something else that he wanted from the city for himself. It's the same extortion tactic that he has used for decades. Millions of Americans are now getting a taste of what it is like to be on the receiving end of it. Trump is counting on the victims to rally for him by saying he has gusto, tells it like it is, and wants a crime-free America that, in his mind, can only be truly achieved with his border wall. Trump admin planning for even longer shutdown "Prudent management means planning and preparing for events without known end dates," an official told NBC News By Peter Alexander and Dareh Gregorian Jan. 23, 2019, 6:42 PM EST / Updated Jan. 23, 2019, 7:58 PM EST Trump admin planning for even longer shutdown excerpt: "The request was first reported by The Washington Post. Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told agency leaders he wants to know what high-impact programs would be jeopardized if the shutdown lasts into March or even April, and he wants the list by no later than Friday, the newspaper reported, citing people familiar with the directive. Economists have told NBC News that an extended government shutdown could be catastrophic for the economy — as well as for the almost 40 million Americans who would lose food stamps, two million people who could lose rental assistance and the 800,000 federal workers and estimated 1.2 million contractors who aren't getting paychecks."
It's clear to me that a "deal" to him is the traditional hostile take over kind. One guy has all the advantage so he makes all demands. If you do not agree your stock continues to loose it's value making it all the more easy for guy one to own you. So really the best thing to do is sell as soon as he offers to buy. If you wait the price drops. Trump it literally clueless with what to do in an equal situation. Apparently he is also really old school with women so on a certain level he can not accept that a women has power over him. He is of the right age group to think like this.
Trump did what he always does and changed his mind. Why was Congress surprised? By Catherine Rampell Columnist December 27, 2018 https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.068fa26a8c1a excerpt: "Initially, Trump signaled that he’d sign a stopgap funding bill that would have kept the government open until early February. To be clear, kicking the can down the road for another seven weeks is not exactly a sign of responsible governance. But if you’re a Republican, it seemed shrewd politically. The majorities of both houses of Congress have an interest in looking at least semi-functional. Shutdowns, besides inflicting unnecessary pain on hundreds of thousands of federal workers, are embarrassing. Which is why Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) decided to endorse this stopgap bill and delay a more substantial funding battle until after Democrats take over the House in the new year. Then at least Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the likely incoming House speaker, could be scapegoated for any shutdown-related embarrassment. Accordingly, the Senate passed the temporary funding measure, by voice vote, on Dec. 19. The House was expected to vote on it the following day, and the bill was anticipated to sail through with broad support in both parties. Before then, Trump did what he always does: He suddenly changed his mind. Egged on by Fox News and Ann Coulter, he announced he was torpedoing any funding bill — including this pitiful temporary measure — unless it included money for his precious border wall. And so outgoing Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) decided not to bring the Senate-passed version of the funding bill to the floor at all."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.068fa26a8c1a excerpt: "The only way to deal with Donald Trump is to not do deals with Donald Trump. The private sector has learned this; when will Congress? For his entire career, our dealmaker in chief has relied on a not-so-secret technique for extracting supposedly good deals: He agrees to a given set of terms and then, at the last minute, reneges on them. He has done this to small businesses around the country, refusing to pay for cabinetry, catering, real estate commissions, and other goods and services after they’ve already been delivered. His companies have also filed for bankruptcy six times, helping him wriggle out of bills. Given this reputation, it’s hardly surprising that vendors and lenders alike ultimately learned it was wiser not to do business with him at all, rather than count on him to keep his word."

Trump and Giannini threaten Cohen's family. Cohen is postponing his testimony due to "ongoing threats".
Trump and Pence just recognized Venezuela's opposition leader as president. They've been saying for two years that they don't believe in meddling in another country's government or democracy. They don't seem to mind the tyrannical Saudi Royal family which murdered Jamal Kashoggi, and caused two sisters to commit political suicide to avoid going back to the Saudi hellhole, and caused another woman to take asylum in Canada. Trump and Pence don't mind meddling in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict to screw the Palestinians, and they don't mind threatening war against Iran. But they are willing to accept Saudi money all day long.
No Donny he is where he is because his information is correct. That is probably why you are so nervous. He is not important the whole case is about you the shot caller. Kind of like Sopranos they only arrest Tony's men so they get dirt on Tony. Which is tough since all he does is tell men to act. The witness tampering is what I would expect on HBO. "Gee you have a nice family there. Hope they stay safe out there. You know lot of guns and crazy men on the road and what not".
Number of uninsured Americans increases by 7m in four years Survey results come after Republican attacks on government-backed health programs, including the Affordable Care Act Jessica Glenza in New York Wed 23 Jan 2019 16.10 EST Last modified on Wed 23 Jan 2019 16.29 EST Number of uninsured Americans increases by 7m in four years excerpt: "insured rates were at their lowest around the time of Donald Trump’s election in 2016 (around 10.6%), Gallup reported, and began to rise after a series of sustained Republican attacks on the law. Republicans in conservative states introduced work requirements to Medicaid, with the approval of the Trump administration. As well, the administration cut the budget for government workers who help Americans sign up for insurance. Known as “navigators”, the administration cut their budget from $63m in 2016 to $10m in 2018. In a Republican plan to cut taxes (predominantly for the wealthy and corporations), they also eliminated a tax penalty for Americans living without health insurance."
