Chuck Schumer pointed out that Trump said in his State of the Union address that he wants some new kind of health insurance which would offer Americans protection for pre-existing conditions … while his DOJ is pushing a case in federal court against such protection for pre-existing conditions!
At Trump's 2018 SOTU, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan introduced him. Trump snubbed Pelosi by walking straight to the podium and starting to talk instead of giving Pelosi a chance to formally introduce him at the SOTU which has been the tradition. Snubbing someone you claim you want to cooperate with isn't a good gesture. Neither is taking away the military flight for Pelosi and the Congressional delegation for the visit to U.S. troops in Afghanistan, optimally timed by Trump to achieve maximum embarrassment while they were on the shuttle bus to the airport and publicly stated by Trump on Twitter to ruin the secrecy and security of the mission. Trump's snubs of Pelosi look similar to his bolting out of the limo on inauguration day and running up the White House steps while leaving his wife behind at the limo. Or his intentionally showing up late in the middle of the women's empowerment session at the G7 summit to disrupt the women by having the cameras turn to him as he came in late..
Trump is now Mr. Nice Guy. He made the same nice remarks the day after the 2016 election that he did in his 2019 SOTU address (a call for healing and unity, a President for all Americans, etc). Those remarks were followed by months of post-election hate statements which gave Trump the unusual distinction of being known as a 'sore winner'. Unity through division. Order through chaos. Cooperation through extortion. Friendship through animosity Charm through insults Humbleness through arrogance Productivity through shutdowns
House launches new investigation of Don. So much for Trump's attempt to intimidate Congress at his state of the union address. The House will look into

A Schiff, J Nadler, E Cummings, and R Mueller just might be the most important people in America right at this moment. They can put Trump and his top lieutenants in prison.
The Trump DOJ just issued a public statement to say acting AG Whitaker will not comply with the House subpoena to force him to testify. Trump has just turned the crank a notch toward the direction of … government disfunction? I would assume at this point Putin is drinking some high dollar Glenlivet scotch and laughing his ass off.
So what he's saying is he wouldn't answer any question he doesn't want to. The House has every right to issue a subpoena: ”If he refuses to show up or answer questions the House has several options: Or:
Trump just gave a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast where he said he wants to abolish civil rights. I think he was trying to tell the religious fundies he wants to kick LGBQT rights back to pre-Korean war times.
Middle Class Dads Freak Out About Trump Tax Hike Wed, Feb 6, 2019 Middle Class Dads Freak Out About Trump Tax Hike excerpt: "What’s the reason for this financial switcheroo? It stems from President Trump’s tax reform, which was passed in 2017 and was touted by Trump and the GOP as a win for the middle class. However, with the new tax system now in place, Americans are discovering that most of the tax relief from the bill is actually being experienced by corporations. Meanwhile, many people are seeing an increase in taxes due to the bill eliminating many of the deductions that were used by middle-class families in order to lower the amount of taxes they were required to pay. Most notably, the tax reform placed a cap on deductions for taxes on both state and local levels."
A lady named Hodges started crying about how much tax money she supposedly saved at what was supposed to be a roundtable discussion of tax reform in WV in 2018 but in reality was another staged praise-fest for Trump dappled with 'thank you' and 'it's an honor to be in your presence'. Some middle-class people are now crying after completing their tax filings, but it's not tears of joy. Remarks by President Trump at a Roundtable Discussion on Tax Reform Budget & Spending Issued on: April 5, 2018 Remarks by President Trump at a Roundtable Discussion on Tax Reform | The White House excerpt: "MRS. HODGE: I just want to say thank you. I said I wasn’t going to cry. (Laughter.) Gosh. I just want to say thank you to you for the tax cuts. This is a big deal for our family. I think half of this audience is our family. (Laughter.) We really support you. And this is a big deal. These tax cuts are a big deal. Thank you for listening to us. Thank you for fighting for us. Thank you for caring enough to allow us the opportunity to come here and tell you “thank you” to your face. My boys — my little 10-year-old wants to be President one day. (Laughter and applause.)"
So just curious, how is tax season treating everyone here? I'm getting back a good bit less than I usually do but I still had the same taken out of my checks that I usually do. So how bout those tax cuts eh
The Johnson Amendment prohibits all 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations from endorsing or opposing political candidates. Senator Homer Ferguson, (R-MI) added it in 1954 at the height of the McCarthy era. It has been declared unconstitutional by the states of AK, AZ, CA, HI, ID, MT, NV, OR and WA. Trump also applauded Karen Pence for returning to teaching at a private Christian school that bans all LGBT people including teachers and students. And anyone who has a LGBT family member! And he praised a Michigan Catholic adoption agency that's being sued for discrimination against same sex parents, is dealing in trafficking children separated from their families at the Mexican border, and is in cahoots with Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
Don't know yet in my case, I believe we took a hit in our retirement stuff. The widow lady down the street got a refund last year but owed $500.00 this year, but I don't know the details.

Additional slimy behavior of Trump: Attorney General Sessions fired Deputy FBI director McCabe on his birthday weekend less than two days before he was eligible for his early pension, an approach that has Trump's fingerprints on it. Session himself was later essentially fired by Trump when Trump asked him to resign. Trump has gotten rid of FBI Director Comey, McCabe, and Sessions of the Justice Department. A fourth, Deputy AG Rosenstein, has said he will resign when Trump's new selection for Attorney General is confirmed by the Senate.
when i was in kindergarten i might have given a speach like that. by the time i was in fifth grade, i can't even imagine not to have been embarassed to do so. his tweets are just about as long as i can stand to listen to him, and i only hear about them, and see them quoted second hand.
Trump ordered Justice Department to draft memo advising firing of Comey, former deputy FBI director claims Tom Embury-Dennis The Independent February 10, 2019 Trump ordered Justice Department to draft memo advising firing of Comey, former deputy FBI director claims excerpt: "Days after Mr Comey’s dismissal, Mr Rosenstein would appoint Robert Mueller, the special counsel, to take over the FBI’s investigation – a decision that publicly infuriated Mr Trump. Elsewhere in his book, Mr McCabe accuses Mr Trump of unleashing a “strain of insanity” into public life, and of having acted like a mobster when he allegedly offered to support Mr McCabe in return for loyalty. “The president and his men were trying to work me the way a criminal brigade would operate,” Mr McCabe writes of his brief period as acting FBI director, according to The Guardian. Mr McCabe would later be fired – just 26 hours before he was scheduled to retire – by then-attorney general Jeff Sessions, who alleged Mr McCabe “made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor”"
