Nor do they mind in the slightest censoring the press at any opportunity in the name of they can't be trusted since, obviously, they can be bought.
Trump turns the full force of the government on perceived political enemies The president is wielding power in ways not seen in the United States in generations — if ever. By Jonathan Allen May 24, 2019 Trump turns the full force of the government on perceived political enemies excerpts: "This is really a feature of petty dictators, where you see the power of investigation abilities being used as a political tool against enemies," said Claire Finkelstein, the director of the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law at the University of Pennsylvania's law school, in a telephone interview. "In this case I believe it is a deliberate attempt to confuse the public, to spin a certain narrative about our intelligence community, to throw pixie dust over the facts surrounding the 2016 election," she said. "And it’s remarkable in my mind that he’s been successful with these tactics" in terms of convincing a significant share of the American public that he is the victim of a "deep state" conspiracy. "He doesn't care about the law," said former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah, who serves as a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. "He is trying to use the justice system and our intelligence system — he's trying to manipulate them and he has been trying to do that for two years, and now he has Bill Barr helping him, and to me, that is just terrifying."
Trump Staff Dreads Traveling Overseas With Toddler President By Jonathan Chait May 24, 2019 Trump Staff Dreads Traveling Overseas With Toddler President excerpt: "Trump does not like it when people are talking about non-Trump subjects. He is known to love meetings set up by foreign dictators that make him the subject of elaborate displays of flattery. (Trump “prefers trips where he is the guest of honor instead of the large summit meetings that comprise chunks of any US president’s calendar.”) He hates meeting with other democratically elected leaders, where he will have to listen to what other people want and possibly negotiate boring policy questions. (“At the yearly G7 and G20 gatherings, Trump has felt ganged up on by other leaders, according to administration officials.”) The good news is that, if you can arrange to let Trump have his favorite food, his favorite television stations, and surround him with people who will talk incessantly about how much they love Trump, then the visit will be fine, until you get back to the plane and Trump starts to get upset at cable news again."
The president has the power to torture and kill anyone he wants without so much as informing congress, while our constitutional rights have been suspended indefinitely for twenty years. Next you'll be telling me congress is overstepping their authority.
Trump bypasses Congress to push through arms sales to Saudis, UAE Lawmakers from both parties criticized the move, with Democrats calling it an abuse of presidential power. By Dan De Luce May 24, 2019, 5:01 PM EDT Trump bypasses Congress to sell bombs to Gulf states excerpts: "The Trump administration on Friday cited a national security "emergency" allegedly caused by Iran to bypass Congress and rush through arms sales worth billions of dollars to Saudi Arabia and other Middle East allies, in a move that drew condemnation from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle." ""The Trump Administration is manufacturing an emergency to push through the sale of deadly weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates," Scott Paul of Oxfam America said. "The real emergency is the 12 million people at risk of famine in Yemen and the largest-ever recorded cholera outbreak continues to spread because of the conflict, but this administration shows little concern for the millions who suffer.""
Krassenstein brothers get banned for making troll accounts on Twitter. It's pitiful to see their livelihoods destroyed, as their entire career and stardom was based on having meltdowns over Trump's tweets and gaining followers. They were banned for creating bots, artificial followers, and purchasing account interactions. Ed and Brian Krassenstein were disgusting people but I have mixed feelings about this. In a way it's poetic justice in that they've been hounding twitter to ban the accounts of their enemies. And it's nice to see that democrats are subject to lifetime bans as well as conservatives. But at the same time, they shouldn't be denied a platform.
What Is Trump Getting for Sucking Up to Saudi Arabia? In our 65-plus years of experience working on U.S. Middle East policy, we’ve never seen anything like the Trump administration’s willingness to prostitute American interests to Saudi Arabia. By AARON DAVID MILLER and RICHARD SOKOLSKY August 29, 2018 What Is Trump Getting for Sucking Up to Saudi Arabia? excerpt: "Where his presidential predecessors traditionally used their first foreign trip to reassure our neighbors in Canada or Mexico, Trump opted to make his first international appearance in Saudi Arabia. From his perspective, that made a certain amount of sense: Trump is notoriously averse to criticism and enchanted by ostentatious flattery; what better place to visit than a police state where oil-rich leaders brook no criticism from their subjects or attacks on their guests? With a sovereign wealth fund in the billions, a potential (even if now delayed) trillion-dollar IPO offering of Saudi Aramco, and royals who acquire some of the world’s most expensive yachts, homes and artwork, Saudi Arabia is Trump’s kind of place. Trump loves order, pomp, circumstance and—above all—flattery, and his hosts offered it up in a veritable buffet. Saudi King Salman and his son and heir to the throne, Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman, feted the president with sword dances, lavish receptions and medals. “It was a great day,” Trump exclaimed on his first night in the kingdom after his arrival."
There must be cash funneled to accounts located in other countries, like maybe Dubai, Estonia, Panama, Caymans, maybe others. It could be moved later to some nice real estate in Florida.
Comey is saying he welcomes an inquiry into what the FBI did in 2016. So William Barr is going to face some serious counter-power. I'm confident Adam Schiff and the others in Congress will spot each Barr dog and pony trick while he cherry picks shit to make Trump look like a victim. Mueller has agreed to talk to House Democrats and have his full hearing made public. This must be why Trump and Barr are using extreme measures.
A Single Scandal Sums Up All of Trump’s Failures The president has been intervening in the process of producing a border wall, on behalf of a favored firm. David A. Graham Staff writer at The Atlantic May 24, 2019 1:02 PM ET A Single Scandal Sums Up All of Trump’s Failures excerpts: "The story demonstrates the shortcomings of Trump’s attempt to bring private-sector techniques into government. It shows his tendency toward cronyism, his failures as a negotiator, and the ease with which a fairly primitive attention campaign can sway him. At heart, though, what it really exemplifies is Trump’s insistence on placing performative gestures over actual efficacy. And it is a concrete example—almost literally—of how the president’s violations of norms weaken the country and waste taxpayer money." "But Trump also knows he needs to build the wall—really, any wall—or at least get a good start before the 2020 election. It was his central campaign promise in 2016, and failing to do so would risk alienating his supporters and might endanger his reelection prospects. As a result, he’s more interested in a performative wall than a wall that performs. If that means hassling the Army Corps to award a contract to a crony whose promises have fallen short repeatedly, so be it. If that means the wall that goes up ends up not being all that effective at stopping border crossings, or if it’s over budget, or if it’s behind schedule, so be it—so long as those bills come due after November 3, 2020."
Donald Trump's victimhood complex Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large Updated 3:09 PM ET, Wed October 31, 2018 Donald Trump's victimhood complex - CNNPolitics excerpt: ""I meet these people they call them 'the elite,'" Trump said at a campaign rally this summer. "These people. I look at them, I say, 'That's elite?' We got more money, we got more brains, we got better houses, apartments, we got nicer boats, we're smarter than they are, and they say they're elite? We're the elite. You're the elite. We're the elite." That grievance-based view of the world found remarkably fertile ground among primarily white voters barraged by almost-constant economic anxiety and a growing sense that the culture in which they grew up was being eroded in front of their eyes. So great was their grievance -- and sense of victimhood -- that they were willing to overlook (or look past) the fact that Trump was a billionaire, who had come from significant wealth, and was living very high on the hog in New York City and Florida. Not exactly someone who shared their worries about ends meeting or paying for their kids to go to college.""
It looks like Trump's supreme court appointees will be upholding the Republican Gerrymandered district borders which were designed to screw Democrats and manage vote outcomes. When the Democrats win more in 2020 they need to remember this and McConnel's expedited judge confirmations after total shut out of Merrick Garland.
You miss the point entirely, Americans have been voting for whoever advertises the most in both local and national elections in the first place, which is why both democrats and republicans worked so hard to gerrymander the entire system. Our glorious leader was a democrat who converted to Neo-Nazi and was elected against the wishes of his own party leaders, because republicans are half the population and demanded we throw the entire electoral system in the toilet, the minute they became aware the white population was shrinking and would inevitably become a minority. You cannot force democracy on Neo-Nazis and the American people have long since sold themselves down the river. The democrats have helped to suspend our constitutional rights indefinitely as well as destroy the electoral system, because they represent the will of the people to become a mindless mob following the money wherever it leads. Campaign all you want, protest all you want, and the mass media will merely laugh at you and see if they can think of ways to make money, while the public sits at home and complains about the service. There is a mountain of evidence from even universities such as Harvard and Yale that your vote doesn't matter in the slightest anymore and it makes no difference whatsoever who you vote in or out of congress, the result is the same.
Trump’s trophy day of sumo, golf and cheeseburgers in Japan By DARLENE SUPERVILLE and JILL COLVIN May 26, 2019 Trump's trophy day of sumo, golf and cheeseburgers in Japan excerpt: "TOKYO (AP) — President Donald Trump presented a special U.S.-made trophy to the winner of a sumo tournament Sunday as he got a taste of one of Japan’s most treasured cultural institutions. The honor given to Trump was part of a charm offensive by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as he courted Trump with three things close to the American leader’s heart: wrestling, cheeseburgers and golf. Sumo diplomacy, to sum it up."
I think it's rather rude to eat a fucking cheeseburger instead of partaking of the host country's food. I was hoping trump would get sick from eating sushi, like old man Bush did that time.
