Trump's favorable rating has dropped a few points in August according to an average of various polls. He might want to reconsider his recent intense campaign of bigoted remarks at non-Christians and non-Whites. He also might want to reconsider the way he has used the mass shootings to insult all the groups and people he doesn't like to the point of getting a few more insults in before his plane landed to meet with the grieving relatives of the shooting victims. Trump already has his hardcore base. His recent approach of digging in deeper is probably not going to yield any more or less support from that group. It appears he is damaging himself by losing his appeal to his non-hardcore supporters and those in the mainstream.
Trump likes to keep visiting the Pittsburgh area and use the phrase "It's all coming back!" to describe the U.S. steel-producing industry that he mistakenly thinks he will make like it was in the 1950's. G.W. Bush used the same tariff approach. An assessment by the government concluded that it cost more jobs than it generated. Bush ended the tariffs early. Trump uses such claims to try to win steel-producing states like PA in 2020 and similar claims to appeal to the coal-producing industry and farmers. The farmers got hit twice by Trump, once by his steel and aluminum tariffs which have made their equipment more expensive and the retaliatory tariffs that Trump didn't anticipate which hurt sales of products such as soy. Trump also didn't realize that his tariff war would cause foreign companies to move operations to the U.S. to avoid the tariffs and American-owned companies to move abroad to avoid the retaliatory tariffs, the opposite of the goal of his tariff war which was to enhance U.S. companies operating in the U.S.
Courtesy Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs, it's more expensive for farmers to buy equipment to produce and bins to store extra soy and other products that they couldn't sell due to the retaliatory tariffs. It precipitated Trump's remedy of scrambling to repurpose money so that government assistance checks could be issued to the farmers. It is financed by the U.S. taxpayers currently to the tune of $28 billion which is comparable to the amount spent on employment insurance for the entire country annually. Similarly, by implementing a fake national emergency, Trump repurposed U.S. taxpayer money for his border wall (the one he said Mexico would finance) after failing in every way to convince Congress to fund it properly, including the Trump-initiated longest U.S. government shutdown in history. The U.S. farmers need to forget about the 'farmers are great American patriots' ploy Trump uses on them. They should start considering what type of deal they think Trump could make for them in a highly competitive global market that will make their situation better than what it was before Trump started his trade war. It requires consideration of the fact that the assistance checks are a short-term bandaid fix and that countries such as China have moved on to cultivating relationships with the farm industries of countries like Argentina and Brazil to bypass Trump, which may leave the U.S. farm industry disadvantaged in the long run.
Scaramucci is putting together a coalition to stop Trump. Looks like he's going to stab him in the front. Trump replied that the Mooch is a "nut job" and he barely knew him. The Mooch was Trump's communications director. The Mooch joins, Republican Bill Weld, who is running against Trump and Republican Mark Sanford who is considering running.
The Epoch Times Newspaper have put their full support behind Donald Trump. The same Newspaper who believe the opioid drug epidemic was engineered by the democrats, that Ted Bundy was groomed by deep state politics, and decided to branch off to become a serial killer, the plane crash victims of 911 are alive and well living in underground tunnels working as slaves for the Clinton's, that Satanic Democratic Pedophiles are drinking the blood of young children as a sacrifice to Satan, and Democrats are responsible for the immigrant Caravans approaching the US border and are even financially supporting their efforts….just a name a few conspiracies, there are dozens of others.
Trump says Jews who vote for Democrats are disloyal. The tactic of accusing Jews of having dual loyalties has a long history.
Apparently, Trump is frustrated about receiving a cold response to his proposal to buy Greenland. In Denmark, Bewilderment and Anger Over Trump’s Canceled Visit By Martin Selsoe Sorensen Aug. 21, 2019 Updated 7:06 a.m. ET In Denmark, Bewilderment and Anger Over Trump’s Canceled Visit excerpt: "ODENSE, Denmark — The astonishment in Denmark over President Trump’s apparent desire to buy Greenland turned to bewilderment and anger on Wednesday after the American leader abruptly scrapped a state visit because the Danes have no desire to sell. The cancellation was a rare snub of Denmark’s head of state, Queen Margrethe II, who had extended the invitation to the president and would have hosted him and the first lady. News that Mr. Trump is not coming “came as a surprise,” the Royal House’s communications director told the state broadcaster, adding, “That’s all we have to say about that.” Others, however, had more to say. “Is this some sort of joke?” Helle Thorning-Schmidt, a former prime minister, wrote on Twitter. “Deeply insulting to the people of Greenland and Denmark.”"
Trump Effect Coal workers fight for benefits as industry struggles under Trump By Heidi Przybyla Aug. 21, 2019, 5:00 AM EDT / Updated Aug. 21, 2019, 5:29 AM EDT Coal workers fight for benefits as industry struggles under Trump excerpt: "The rank-and-file miners Trump showered with attention as a candidate have been less fortunate as their job prospects dwindle and their communities languish. The year 2018 was second only to 2015 for coal plant retirements this decade, as the industry contends with strong competition from natural gas and renewable energy. At the same time, safety protections for miners, enacted after deadly mine collapses, have been weakened. Waves of retired and retiring miners concerned about failing pension plans have become a fixture on Capitol Hill, often holding vigils to gain attention.""
The Memo: Polls flash warning signs for Trump By Niall Stanage 08/21/19 06:00 AM EDT The Memo: Polls flash warning signs for Trump excerpt: "In the Fox News poll released last week, Trump was tested against four possible Democratic opponents: former Vice President Joe Biden, and Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Kamala Harris (D-Calif.). Trump won white voters by relatively narrow margins against all four — from just a single point over Biden to seven points over Harris. That’s bad news for Trump, who enjoyed a 20-point advantage with white voters over Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016. The president crushed Clinton with white non-college educated voters, winning them by a huge 37 points (66-29 percent) over Clinton. In the Fox poll, his best performance with such voters — an 18-point advantage over Warren — was roughly half as large. The Fox News poll does not appear to be an outlier, as a Quinnipiac University poll released last month showed similar patterns."
Presidential flip flopper Donald Trump reneges on background checks. This after signaling he was open to them last week after the two mass shootings. NRA = money.
Noon today Wednesday he is saying he will do background checks. Everyone at CNN and MSNBC have twisted their necks and now are in line at the chiropractor office for an adjustment. I poured a half pint of Bourbon in my coffee, to help with the headache cause by our Bipolar President.
Trump did the same flip-flop in March 2018 after the Florida school mass shooting. The NRA takes him out to dinner and reminds him of how much money it gives his campaign. Trump drops calls to raise guns age limit 12 March 2018 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43369991
If it's of any consolation to the relatives of victims of mass shootings, Trump has said that he would run into a mass shooting and take down the shooter himself. That's the same Trump who ran out of a room after seeing blood where an elderly man had fallen and bumped his head on the floor of a Trump property.
Here's what the NRA did to change Trump's mind on gun control A dinner with the NRA and a meeting with a Parkland survivor in the Oval Office. by Alex Thompson Mar 12 2018, 2:08pm Here's what the NRA did to change Trump's mind on gun control
2PM Wednesday … the same Wednesday … he is now saying he will close loop-holes in background checks … whatever that means? Nothing has been said about preventing Meth-Heads and Neo-Nazis from getting guns.
Christ, not only is he the "president" of us, but he is also the king of Israel. I think he should move there. Jews tweet 'disloyal to Trump' after Trump calls them disloyal
Yesterday he was saying he will cut the Payroll Tax rate to stimulate the economy. Today he changed his mind again? Is this a sign of a mental issue?
How Greenland explains Donald Trump's entire presidency Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large Updated 2:25 PM ET, Wed August 21, 2019 How Greenland explains Donald Trump's entire presidency - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Now consider the Greenland purchase in the context of Trump's broader presidency. It meets all the criteria that have come to define his "modern-day presidential" approach to the job. *Come up with a totally off-the-wall idea, with a whiff of America-gets-its-way-no-matter-what in there *Idea leaks -- or the White House leaks it as a trial balloon -- to the media, with the caveat that his aides aren't sure if he is serious about it *Downplay idea, insisting the media got it wrong -- even while leaving the door open to doing the deal if the other side is open to it *Take ball and go home when off-the-wall idea is rejected, jeopardizing relationship with longtime strategic ally"
