I think trump, pompeo, and mcconnell should be charged with treason.
    The penalty for treason is. . . . . . . .

Ask Adam Schiff, Trump accused him of treason. The definition is in the Constitution.

The situation with Iran had simmered down in the years before Trump.

As expected, Trump started fights with people as soon as he took office.

Bolton was in his administration long enough to help ignite the flames in Iran which, like Trump's trade war, has become a tit-for-tat conflict which has spilled into Iraq courtesy Trump's move to take advantage of Iraq for his assassination strike.

Even Pence tried to downplay Trump's tweets about targeting Iranian locations.

"52 targets": Trump tweet sparks Iranian furor

Trump's "52 targets" tweet sparks Iranian outrage, accusations of war crimes

    excerpts:

"The U.S. and Iran are trading stunningly specific threats, with President Trump tweeting Saturday night that the military could target 52 Iranian sites — including some "important" to Iranian culture — and an Iranian commander pointing to "35 U.S. targets in the region as well as Tel Aviv."

Why it matters: This rhetoric suggests the off-ramp from a hot conflict may be fading, with Trump's warning about cultural sites prompting Iranian officials to accuse the president of flouting international law and threatening war crimes.

"Through MILLENNIA of history, barbarians have come and ravaged our cities, razed our monuments and burnt our libraries," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted Sunday. "Where are they now? We're still here, & standing tall.""

Iraqi parliament calls on government to expel U.S. troops over Soleimani killing

    excerpt:

"The Iraqi parliament passed a resolution Sunday calling on the government to expel U.S. troops from the country in response to the killing of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani and the leader of an Iraqi militia on its soil.

People are still having difficulty fathoming Trump's narcissistic extreme need to get even with people ten times over to make himself feel better and look better to the public.

Pentagon Officials Reportedly “Stunned” by Trump’s Decision to Kill Soleimani

    excerpt:

"Then things changed when protesters gathered outside the U.S. embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday. Iranians saw the U.S. response as disproportionate but Trump became increasingly angry at the images he saw on television as protesters stormed the embassy. Suddenly, Trump was worried that failing to respond to the protests would look weak. By Thursday, Trump had decided to go forward with the killing of Soleimani and “top Pentagon officials were stunned,” reports the Times. CNN also reports that “some officials emerged surprised” when the president decided to target Soleimani as many expected he would go for a less risky option. There was immediate concern about what kind of retaliation that could spark from Iran, but it is unclear whether top military officials pushed back against Trump’s decision."

Trump's already won. Everyone is so focused on the Iran/Iraq situation that we forgot there is an election and impeachment going on. He has managed to accomplish exactly what he set out to. lol...for once

Yeah, trump says he wants to bring the troops home. Let's see if he does it.

    You're right about that.

I find it disturbing that Trump failed to inform Congress but did inform his buddy Lindsey Graham, the perennial hawk. Rumor has it that, lacking a formalized process for meeting with the National Security Council, he's influenced instead by the last person in the room, who in this case happened to be Graham. Reportedly, Rand Paul has influenced policy on the other side. So it seems like the situation we see depicted in the cartoons, with the guy in the red suit (Graham) on one shoulder and the guy in the white robe ( Paul) on the other.

Iran's pulling out of he Nuclear deal.
Looks like the Art of the Deal just gave Iran nukes.
So Iran keep there end of the deal. Trump reneged, then killed one of their top generals...Iran's had enough and is going nuclear.

Trump is reviving the four decades old fight that the U.S. had with Iran in 1979.

Trump threatens attacks on 52 sites if Iran retaliates for Soleimani killing
Trump tweeted the targets "WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD" if Iran retaliates for the killing of Qassem Soleimani.

Trump threatens Iran with attacks on 52 sites

    excerpt:

""Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have.........targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD," he said. "The USA wants no more threats!"

Trump's tweet was vaguely worded, but the United Nations Security Council appears to suggest the targeting of cultural heritage sites is prohibited.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif responded early Sunday, accusing Trump of threatening a "war crime" and breaching the norms of international law."
