Trump goofed the name of former US attorney in Illinois, Patrick Fitzgerald, referring to him as 'Fitzpatrick' when he announced his pardons and mentioned Comey's name. Fitzgerald prosecuted Blagojevich.

Trump is upset that Fitzgerald and Comey were associates.

Fitzgerald worked on the Plame case which led to the conviction of Scooter Libby. Trump pardoned Libby in 2018.

 

Balgojevich's wife publicly praised Trump and attacked Comey and Mueller before Trump pardoned Blagojevich.

"LONDON—A lawyer for Julian Assange has claimed in court that President Donald Trump offered to pardon Assange if the WikiLeaks founder agreed to help cover up Russia’s involvement in hacking emails from the Democratic National Committee.

Assange’s lawyers said on Wednesday that former Republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher offered Assange the deal in 2017, a year after emails that damaged Hillary Clinton in the presidential race had been published. WikiLeaks posted the stolen DNC emails after they were hacked by Russian operatives.

The claim that Rohrabacher acted as an emissary for the White House came during a pre-extradition hearing in London."

 

Coats had warned Trump about Russian interference in U.S. elections, similar to how Rood had warned Trump about his scheme of withholding of U.S. aid to Ukraine for personal benefit. Trump disposed of both of them.

Trump wanted loyalist Ratcliffe of Texas to replace Coats. Ratcliffe dropped out after controversy over his embellished resume that made it appear that he had put many terrorists in prison.

 

Ratcliffe's resume was similar to that of Mina Chang of Trump's State Department who put her face on the cover of a fake Time magazine. It was shown on TV during an interview of her and she didn't say it was fake. Chang resigned after her embellishments became known.

 

Coats was an experienced U.S. senator from Indiana and a former U.S. ambassador to Germany, whereas Ratcliffe was a little known representative from Texas.
