just wanted to say hi.
I was looking on google to find out how to do dreads and came accross this website which looks pretty cool.

my hair is only about 3inch long but i am going to go the natural way.

Hi, my name is LaDonna. I've fought my hair all my life. When I was a kid mom kept is boy-short. As I got older and didn't wanna look like a man anymore I grew it out. Going to salons was a nightmare. "What ethnicity are you", "do you blow-dry, color, perm, or otherwise damage your hair?" The last time I went to a salon (15 years ago maybe) when she combed my hair her exact words were "damn girl, your hair is wirey!" Since that time I've worn it up in ponytails, braids, buns, but always dreaming of dreads. Last night my dream came true!! I did a little backcombing and am gonna let nature take its course. Today getting ready for work I took the dreads in the front and pulled them back and tied them in a knot like I've seen many times online. They stayed there all by themselves!! I actually jumped for joy. I think I finally love my hair.

Really uplifting story LaDonna.My hair always had a mind of it's own too and dreads are the answer but in saying that timing is everything and when your supposed to have locks you will have locks.

 

hi! im susanna from california. i got dreads for many reasons, i think mainly because my hair was long but it was getting so unhealthy and tangling so much...but i didn't want to cut it. also i just like them. also other people who have them tend to share the same spiritual beliefs and ideals as i. after starting them and working with them for a while, i also discovered it is a wonderful spiritual journey. when i am rolling them or working with them i find myself brought into a very relaxing trance. also as you all know it is a ot of work and i'm starting to learn how to relax about it on the "bad" days and not get frustrated. obtaining mature dreads is something that takes alot of time and has some bad days along the way, so i see it as a way to break free of the instant gratification syndrome.

hey ^.^ just found the site and it looked rater cool. iv been thinking of getting dreds for years now and have finaly found someone who will do it for me thumbs up all round so yeah intro's

im amber, just turned 20 on july 4th im from merry old england and soon going off to drama school for 3 years to study physical theatre (think DV8 and push theatre)

I don't have dreads (always wanted 'em! damn job!) , but find them very cool (and sometimes sexy) on others...
