I didn't know Osho was the same person as Rajneesh. In the mid 80's Rajneesh's organization had literally taken over a small town in Oregon, I think, and renamed it. They sent a fleet of buses many miles south to my home city and other big cities to gather up homeless people, then transport them to Oregon to vote in elections that would consolidate the organization's legal power base. It was all over the news here. His organization in the U.S. fell apart soon after that, and Rajneesh returned to India. The daily Rolls-Royce darshans were part of the news stories, as were lurid descriptions of the alleged sex, drug, and spirituality lifestyle that Rajenesh's followers led. A rich guy here where I live bought all the Rolls-Royces and was going to auction them off, but I think he died of a sudden onset of cancer before he could do so...if I remember he was less than 50 yrs. old at the time.
