Artificial Illness, by simulating various illnesses using VR, haptic feedback, and other means it is possible to teach alcoholics how to be honest about how much liquor they can hold.
It really is incredibly uncomfortable. I either have to stop at a couple of drinks or just keep drinking until I go to sleep because I cant stand the come down from alcohol, it just makes me completely useless I just mostly avoid it all together because of this.
yeah, weed is the only thing that makes it bearable. but then you're still completely useless, so there's that.

This is why day drinking kinda sucks. Unless you're home alone with no responsibilities and can sleep for two hours in the afternoon while sobering up. I remember going to a lunch meeting once and ordering a martini. They brought it out and the glass was huge. Now, there's a splash of olive brine and a little vermouth, but for the most part, a martini has no mixers. So there I was with a bowl of gin. Went back to the office and accomplished fuckall the rest of the afternoon.
I have Mondays off, so I was at home alone with no responsibilities, drank some water and had a nap. But yes if you push it to far and drink a lot in the day the recovery is unpleasant. On Christmas Day if we eat and drink at lunchtime then by the time the James Bond film comes on the tv in the evening I'm completely flaked out.
