Irminsul, getting him a little female pup is smart. I was worried about the same thing when I got the new pup. My big dog took one look at the little female pup and decided that she was mighty purty. :) They were instant best buds. He's put up with sooo much puppy amuckness. He even lets her bite his tail and swing from it. :)

I'm not sure he'd have been so accepting of a male pup. He's pretty alpha.

Yeah two males can be a handful, especially two German shepherds. We've a backyard easily accommodating but even when people come over with their males for play dates, Atreyú just doesn't stop. They all want to rest in the shade and catch their breath but not our boy, so he just keeps going and sooner or later they get angry at him and try and put him in his place. But with his rope, he's learned so many moves that he's actually really good at wrestling lol.

When my daddy used to train and show the dogs, I remember once two males who were best friends for years, something happened. They snapped. Hated one another ever after. And they were vicious at each other.

When I had my boys, Koa and Thor, they never fought. They would even eat out of the same dish without issues when we were moving from CA to OH in the old van.

When Thor died, Koa denied the fact that Thor was gone and Koa knew what death was all about... he just refused to believe Thor had left without him. 9 months later Koa got to go see Thor again.

They left me behind this time... Dammit!

It sucks. I still remember my Beau dog, it was our German shepherd we got when we first moved to Australia. And he was such an awesome dog and very mature and trustworthy. As I got older though I had less time for him and it always hurt me inside but I was teenager now and late teens and then early twenties. I'd moved out of home by then and then one day it was like he was just annoyed at me. Like he was thinking man fuck you, you're dead to me. Eventually cancer beat him and when we had to put him down I remember I just layer with him on the floor and I cried and apologized. He went all peacefully but when I got outside the vet I just lost it in tears and hurt and I hope I wasn't dead to him. I wish they could understand. I'm all teary now. ='[ for weeks later though, he was around my folks house. Daddy said he could feel and hear him still. I think he's moved on now, I remember one of my rabbits stayed close for a little bit too, I felt him once, rubbing up the back of my calf as he so often did. I remember I turned around shocked and nothing was there and I knew that it was our peaceful little Aryan saying hello again. :)

Submitted requests for help to a few places today.
One lady called back and said he didn't need the x-rays or biopsy and i shouldn't have them done, just the surgery.
It would knock close about $275 off the bill.
My concern is that the thing was fine and didn't change for a year and then in less than two weeks it has grown so much.

One challenge while waiting is limiting his activity. for every hour that dog is mellow, the spring gets wound up tighter and tighter until he is about to burst if he doesn't play and run, and if not he gets all "woe is me" and depressed.
We have gotten into a routine, park for a few laps in the morning, playing ball in the yard off and on throughout the day and what has become his favorite thing, taking loooong walks at night, so trying to keep him mellow isn't fun.
he is also much much more aggressive and prone to go after another dog when he is all wound up tight, so relieving that pressure is also a safety measure...LOL
But hey, he sat in the vet office 3 feet from another dog and handled it rather well, for him. He just shook like a leaf, making his grunts and moans he makes, huffing and puffing getting ready to fight, but he sat next to me the whole time and didn't lunge at the other dog once.

gonna look into the credit card thing, doubt I will be approved and the interest rate is extortionate, but hey you can use it for vet bills.
Will also look into vet colleges as well.
    thanks Aerianne and Heat.

We worry about our fur kids as much as the two legged ones. Just as it should be. :)

I agree you should try your luck with gofundme noxious! Even if you don't raise the full amount, every little bit helps right? Yu would have to post about it on a few forums or something, besides this one, which I don't normally approve of (spamming forums not going elsewhere), but for fur babies it's worth it.

I had to look that one up - it has Interesting mechanism of action. Do you find that it works?

The reason I ask is because I'm studying pharmacology, so I'm just trying to gather knowledge on any drugs I come across :)

Also, Noxious, sorry to hear about Buddy. I hope everything ahead goes well!

Studying pharmacology. Lulz. Just as bad as justifying an obsession for weed because it "helps with an injury". :D
You wanna open a drug lab, don't you. ;)

That reminds me of a guy I used to know who was studying chemistry and pharmacology. He was actually really smart but he chose those fields just so he could play with drugs. I won't get into the whole story, but it didn't exactly end well for him...

It never would. I know a guy who was studying chemistry and worked security. He tried to "study" a certain compound, was arrested and put in jail until he could talk his way out that he was just studying. He can never have another security job though or anything like that.

Haha, well I wouldn't mind working in a drug lab. I'm not too hot with my economics, so I'll try to stay off of running the lab itself. But we'll see how that all goes, or if I even do end up working in one!

I did choose pharmacology due to an interest in drugs. Actually, I wanted to do chemistry initially, but chemistry seems like more and more like something you should know, rather than something to base a career off of.
Anyway, if anything I have so far broadened my horizons. Lots of the drugs we discuss in classes are non-psychoactive; things like pain relievers(the non-opiates of course), antacids, anti-biotics etc. And it all has to be backed up with a strong physiology/biochemistry/biology component, so there is certainly more than just the drugs.

It is nice to talk about drugs "professionally" though. I've always got an excuse to go into in-depth drug talks now :p

Years ago when I had a cat his favourite place to sleep at night was at the top of my pillow curled around the tip of my head. He would purr and it would massage my scalp. Neat but strange feeling. :)
