Has anyone had allergic reaction to shrimp before? My bottom lip is all puffy in the centre, like I've bit it, or someone hit me. I know my daddy is allergic to them, but I've never shown signs until now. And it really really hurts too like a pimple but there's no marks, no redness just when I pout my bottom lip, it's all swollen. =[

 

Could be several things. But no I have no known allergies.
Damn now I forgot what I came here to say.

My daughter in law had a reaction to shrimp a few months ago. It involved the inside of her mouth her throat, hives on face and body. It was more than a lip bump.

 

my uncle ate shrimp most of his life. and then one time he had shrimp and started to swell. face, hands, etc. you can develop allergies later in life. also, drinking alcohol while consuming an allergen can give you a reaction (i guess it lets more of the stuff into your body)

be cautious from now on. and i would take an allergy med to see if that reduces the symptoms.

 

In have an aunt who the same thing happened to, although with shell fish in general.

Allergies seem much more common currently than they once did, don't you think?

As a mother, I can imagine you would notice this pretty quickly, since a lot of schools and public places are very sensitive to allergies.

 

there are a lot of allergies cropping up. i blame the "advances" in food. my kids eat what i eat. no allergies thus far. im sensitive to shrimp, but not if i dont eat the actual meat. like, i can have shrimp and clam sauce, as long as i pick out the pieces of shrimp. i dont know why. if i eat pieces of shrimp i throw up. waste of food. not my style.

 

I don't think this is an allergy because it's just the one place and everything else is normal. Maybe I sucked on my lip at Xmas when I was really spaced out lol.

I bit the side of my mouth at the movies yesterday and now I keep biting it. =[

Yeah... you can develop an allergy to anything at any time. Even things you've been exposed to your whole adult life. I'm allergic to many cleaning chems unless it was a product that we had around as kids. No problems with bleach, windex or comet... but 409 can put me in the hospital. It's weird but I think it's because much of the immune system is getting 'set' in childhood... and we played outside all the time and always in the dirt. So... I'm not allergic to things that were around when I was a kid. That's my theory, anyway.

About the shrimp. Lots and lots of people develop allergies to shellfish. It's probably even more so after the BP spill in the Gulf, where much of America's shrimp comes from. The chems they tried to clean the spill with were worse than the spill itself and they remain at the bottom of the Gulf, where the shrimp live. Yum!

I miss eating shrimp, too.

show called ''sense 8'' on Netflix....holy cow there is some serious lesbian scenes in the first episode.....it is a show about telepathic mental ability between these 8 people who all live in different cities but are connected...they can kiss mentally etc

one of them is a gorgeous lesbian ....they are celebrating pride and after they are finished she throws he apparatus on the floor and wouldn't you know it...it is a rainbow colored ''attachmen''t....

each one has a different strength...the lez chick is a hacker....hey also eat pot brownies in the first episode....handsome movie star dude is gay but in the closet...theres a cop....Korean chick who is a ninja type......my daughter started me watching it....very progressive and full of twists and action
