Energy rebates are fine and all , but all this will do is push the price of efficient HVAC up 30% which already cost twice what basic reliable units cost...oooh....I spent $10000 more to save $20/mo to have something fixed twice a year at a grand a crack. This dog don't hunt. Don't get me started on the solar panel scam - people need to realize that power companies are in the business to sell you power.
I've seen a few of those stickers myself at scattered gas stations throughout the region Not sure If they attempted to remove them as gas prices continue to tumble
This is what I'm referring to... The stickers are gone now, but you can still see where they were scratched off with a pocket knife.
So thoughts on Joe's reducing college loan debt? People piss and moan about the bad decisions some students made, but I think 85% are just stuck - they were pressured since 6th grade that a degree from a major school was the entry bar into any decent job - and it is for most. For most borrowers, ten grand doesn't mean jack - but that money goes back into the economy, it will be spent and turned out into an economic boost for everyone - the entire system will gain from it, it's not just printing money, it's investment. There's no financial aid at school anymore - that really helped me out then - my dad didn't make much money, there were two of us making our way through college to get the hell out of Dodge. So, are there people who don't deserve it? Of course, as in any social program - but the overwhelming majority do. Yeah, there's jobs here, but rents have doubled, wages are stuck. College is unreasonably expensive for how little life and career skills are taught for the first few years - only as the entry bar - the weed out process. The good old boy's club of higher education needs a swift kick in the ass. Six semesters of fucking integral calculus and differential equations were required of me...I have never, ever used it - nor has anyone I work with. Think of the good career stuff we could have had instead - learning how things work instead of how to just pass the test and get through the course.
Hmmm. Wish this could have happened back when I owed money on a student loan. Took me years to pay it off. Oh well.
This is how it works: People who have money are given more money and don't have to pay for anything. People who have no money aren't given any money and have to pay for everything. Any questions?
Republicans don't stand for anything. They are just butt-heads who think they have a right to make money off the rest of us.
People seem to forget that it was the Republicans during the years of Reagan/Bush who complained about entitlements and welfare Cadillacs; and they passed new laws to prevent college students from declaring bankruptcy protection which listed student debt. The Republicans wanted to punish students/education by making sure a student can never get out of debt. At the same time, businessmen -- like Donald Trump -- could file for bankruptcy protection four times so they can screw their lenders and have the rest of us absorb the costs of his lavish life-style.
