Four years ago, I characterized JB as "affable but hapless." I stand behind that assessment. It made him a superior alternative to DT, whom Elizabeth Warren accurately characterized as a "narcissistic thin-skinned flim-flam man."

While still affable, JB today has declined to somewhere below hapless in understanding, effectiveness, and leadership. Sadly, I won't be able to vote for either major party candidate this time around.

As much of a shill as Bill Barr was to Trump, even Barr has said publicly in interviews that Trump abusing or violating the law by using the DOJ against Biden shouldn't happen.

 

The GOP-controlled House investigated this during the past months. It turned up nothing on Biden but found that Trump received nearly $8 million from foreign governments while in office, much of it from China.

 

After that embarrassing finding, The GOP tried to impeach Biden's director of Homeland Security. That also failed in a 215-215 vote. The Ukraine border wall also failed at the behest of Trump who wanted it to fail.

The GOP may try again to impeach the director of Homeland Security because Scalise wasn't available to vote while being treated for cancer. With his vote, the GOP might eke a 216-215 win.

The GOP has been accusing Biden of receiving money from China through his son Hunter but hasn't produced evidence. That would have been in the 2017 era when Trump was president, not Biden.

I read Biden confused Egypt with Mexico.
It's now a meme as Egyptians are putting the Mexican Eagle on their flag, and vice versa.

And ironically, the Egyptians refer to their president Sisi as "the Mexican" because the word Mexican in Egyptian sounds like Sisi. This allows them to criticize Sisi without using his name because criticizing their leader is a crime.

You can be sure Trump will sign a similar executive order, jailing anyone who criticizes him, just like his buddy Putin does.

People are harking back to 2018 before the pandemic, mistakenly thinking that reelecting Trump is going to bring back that era.

Although some are blaming Biden for inflation, those who vote for Trump should expect a resurgence of inflation. He wants interest rates zero or negative and vows to expand his trade wars to any country he deems isn't being fair to him by imposing 25% tariffs. The post-pandemic surge of inflation is partly due to the downward trend in interest rates pre-pandemic pushed by Trump who publicly called Jerome Powell names for not lowering them further.

Trump's desire for revenge and chaos has worsened over the years. It's not a good atmosphere for business planning and economic growth. If he's reelected, people will probably end up disappointed. They'd likely be better continuing with the Biden administration even if they are disappointed with him now for economic conditions that happened in the first year or two during recovery from the effects of the pandemic which weren't his fault but could be partly ascribed to Trump who dealt with the pandemic irresponsibly.

Some simply like the bluster of Trump, thinking that it somehow makes him a better leader. It's difficult for the more rational-minded politicians to cut through to the public whose fantasy has been captured by bluster. The GOP as a whole has succumbed to it and is almost unrecognizable compared to what it once was.

Saw The President give his State of the Union message on TV. and Yes, Our President was pumped-up. Not from medications, but due to his terrific showing in the Super Tuesday primaries where he swept with Fidel-like numbers* This, in comparison to his challenger who routinely lost: 20, - 25, maybe 30 percent of the primary vote to Nicki Hailey in the various state primaries. These Republician outliers should be a large consideration in the Presidential campagain.

Our President did not stake out any new ground which would attract any of these disaffected Republicians. It was the Philadelphia speech all over again, less the red-lit background of Independence Hall. Mr Biden will gain no new ground with a pale imitation of Mr. Trump. If Mr. Trump is just so auful, why imitate him.
If The Prresident is imitating Trump; then how bad can Trump really be? President Biden's team is conducting a Political Base campagain while all these Nicki Hailey voters are up for grabs?
