I'm not really one to follow or discuss politics; it just does bring out the worst in people.

That said, I've never felt seen by an American president before Biden. That said, my state governor has done more to protect me than Biden has. But we're on his radar and hopefully that cat will never go back in the bag.

That’s why it’s called politics. Everything you’ve said is a valid complaint, and has been for a very long time. But right now, we’re in the process of voting someone back in office who actually needs to be held accountable, and in jail! This same person wants to be a dictator. Do you want to live under a dictatorship? Under Donald Trump and his MAGA minions (Michael Flynn, Mike Lindell, Steve Banon, Marjorie Taylor Green, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, etc., etc., in cabinet positions making decisions for the country? For you and your family?Aren’t you scared of that shit? At all?

 

Buying fuel for my car I commented how expensive it was, not complaining or anything like that, just touching base with a stranger.
I loved and believe what he said.

Politics is just a pile of shit, the only thing that changes is the flies, thinking about that shit comes from assholes, in this case politicians assholes.

To be honest I couldn't give a shit, we are loosing our right to free speech, lied to, only told what they want you to hear, propaganda is the same in the West as it is in eastern Europe, our elected politicians are self serving assholes that look after their mega rich buddies, I am entitled to think the way I do which is my natural human right, compared to the way things were when I grew up we are alreay living in a dictatorial way., I am just happy I am in the twilight years of my life, we had the best they can keep the rest, just an Australian point of view.

 

We are losing our right to free speech? When did that happen? You are entitled to think the way your do, but it doesn't make it intelligent. Whatever "natural rights' you might think you have, the only real rights you have are those given by government and recognized by the courts. For some (e.g., women) those are recently shrinking as a result of the Supreme Court's decision to reverse Roe v. Wade. What could be more natural than the right to control your own body and health. As for the oppression you're experiencing, does that go beyond your gas tank? For a lot of folks, the good ol' days weren't so wonderful: racial segregation, laws regulating who you could have sex with and how, or who you could marry. I don't know how old you are, but it could get much, much worse in this country if we end up with a Putin-style dictatorship. I wouldn't want to spend my twilight years living under that. BTW, are you a U.S. citizen? I somehow thought you were Australian.

 

I disagree. We are NOT living in a dictatorship.You say that you honestly couldn’t give a shit. You haven’t truly experienced it, and neither have I. But I’m not about to start. People that I know that have experienced it would argue with you and tell you that’s not what you want. Trump thinks that he can dispatch the military to eliminate political opponents. Are you okay with that? Because that’s not where it ends. Anyone that says anything that he doesn’t like, would be dealt with the same way. He would have his minions sniff out every social media platform, forums, etc. to target people that oppose him. That’s how bad it really could get. We’re are not living under a dictatorship…..

 

Thanks. For the reply, we are all entitled to our own opinion but as politics can be a never ending debate I won't make any further comments. I believe in what I believe, we live in a broken world and no political debate is going change that.

 

Times have changed, society has changed and has become more complex. And politics certainly hasn’t gotten any easier.
