stickers on plates in ontario are good for the entire month...there is no way for plates to expire before the 31st...even if its past her b day?

a good lawyer will shred that...the plates were good so the stop is illegal if thats what they are saying they stopped her for???????????????

 

I'm not sure why they stopped her in the first place, she still isn't home...

Regardless of that though, she will be calling some places and seeing if she can find someone to fight it.... on any grounds... lol

if she does get the no-insurance fine.... she's done driving for years... there is no way we can pay something like that off...

 

I was just on the phone with her... apparently the cop said he stopped her just to check her tags because they said september and we were close to the end of the month...

 

is that a valid reason for them to stop you?

i've had a cop pull up to me at a stop-light and yell over to let me know they expired in a couple days... but not actually pull me over for it.

 

Minnesota they give you about a 5-7 day leeway into the next month before they will ticket you for an unregistered vehicle

I've been pulled over twice for having "dirty plates". The first time was on my street 1 turn away from my house, the cops followed me for at least 1.5km before pulling me over and a paddy wagon showed up after the first cruiser...Second time this happened I pulled out of the driveway at the house I lived at over the winter and a cop sitting across the street followed me and pulled me over, again for "dirty plates". My rear plate is kind of faded but I think it is an unreasonable reason to be pulled over

In the first instance I have reason to believe my car was flagged in their system for suspicious activity, as I had a few close calls with police while driving around at strange hours of the night. The second occurrence I was really pulled over to be questioned about the house since the police were investigating it for suspicious activity (people in/out all night, lights always on , messy yard etc). They thought we were making crack or meth (what the cop asked me about).

 

serial numbers wont match up if they ask for your reg card.. and if they run the plate it'll come back as not registered still

 

phone the ministry...it is common knowledge..the cop lied,,....she can win this...what?..the cop says he has a right to stop every person with a b day near the end of every month..i dont fucking think so...no...he knew you have your papers...you 2 are on a list.....he was hoping for drugs

dude..sometimes it can work in your favor to go to the popo station and speak to the copper...play the odsp card and beg him to agree to you approaching the prosecutor and pleading to a lesser cgarge...offer to ''make a charitable donation''...i swear it will work

the traffic prosecutor MUST make himself available to people to talk directly to...do you know why?

i know why because i have been in traffic court maybe 50 times

the reason why

ontario no longer provides a ''duty counsel'' for traffic court appearances...only criminal and family..they dropped traffic court

so

at the court the prosecutor usually meets people every afternoon or a couple days a week..our court is only once a week...they had me dead to rights..i explained how povertous i am..i really poured it on,,,had them crying..offered to donate money and they said YES.

they dont menttion businesses in that one though...a business registered vehicle expires at the end of the month rather than a birthday
