Also, Pressed Rat, it occurs to me that you should be involved in making beer instead of just drinking and reviewing.
You seem to have a good mind for picking out flavors and a knowledge of where they all come from.

If I lived near you and was going to start a brewery, I'd call upon you to join the ranks.

    jus sayin

Now drinking Double Negative from Grimm.

This is an imperial stout coming in at 10% ABV.

Pours a pitch black color with a tan colored head.

Aroma is of dark semisweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and vanilla.

Flavor is of sweet dark chocolate, some smoky flavors, dark fruits (plum, raisin), caramel and coffee.

Mouthfeel is medium-full with a light carbonation, creamy, and slightly syrupy.

    Overall an INCREDIBLE imperial stout!

    A+

Alrighty, on to beer #3 now.

    The beer:
    (Alc. 7.0%)

Smells: Sweet malt strikes me first. Then there's a bready/cracker backbone. And somewhere in the background, a wafting of pleasant citrus.

Tastes: Much like it smells, but there's an added woody/smoky flavor. The only bitter flavor is at the tail end and very faint. I couldn't be faulted for even suggesting a bit of raisin and honey intertwined in there.

Overall, this is weird. It's supposed to be an IPA, but it certainly doesn't smell or taste like one. Definitely not as easy to plow through as the last two, but pleasant enough nonetheless.

    Damn you.
I want that beer really freakin bad.

But honestly, there's so many that you review that I'd love to try, but have no hope of doing so without a weekend trip out to a brewery.
Like Grimm... shit man... I'd love to try just about anything from them, going by your reviews.

Fucking awesome local beers that are far away from me.

I need to start making my own damn beer.
(I have the kits and shit to make up to 5 gallons, just have issues with room and being a procrastinator.)

I wonder what my last beer will look like.
I've been looking forward to it since I left the liquor store, like 5 or 6 hours ago.

For now I have to walk the dog.
Which means I get to have another cigarette... I think my 4th of the day.

Back soon with a new review...
    until then, have this:

Now it's time for the behemoth of the night.
The time when things start unwinding into Crazytown.

    So, here we go!

    The beer:

    (Alc. 14.1%)

Smells like: Sweet malt and raisins. A thick boozy thread is woven throughout. A whisper of tart cherry meanders along with biscuit scents.

Tastes like: Tart and smoky cherry, with caramelized raisins on the side. Rye qualities softly flourish throughout the mouth. Sweet malt carrying the whole experience. With a tart tingle under the tongue as an afterthought.

Overall, a well crafted drink, even if kinda heavy on the sweet side. The booziness can be detected on an exhale. Pleasant, nicely honed, but almost demands to be sipped gently, due to the sweetness. Not sure that I'd buy it again, but I do't regret getting it in the first place either.

And this ended up being the most fitting pic I found (without spending forever looking for one):

It's interesting. And hard to pin down.
Reminds me of a fruity wheat beer but only if the fruit had no flavor.

    Well worth the $1.

Well made but I have had better similar beers.

    I'd give it a B.

I haven't had any good beer lately. But I used to buy Hennepin/Ommegang quite a bit. I always liked them.

Those two Westbrook beers are not among their best, IMO. They are decent, but not amazing or anything. If you ever see the Two Claw (blue can), get it!

This is Fuggin' awesome! Still drinks amazing at one month out.

This is Citra from Other Half out of NYC. This is an IPA coming in at 7% ABV.

One word describes this beer, and that word is amazeballs.

Bud light. pours a hazy yellow (like my urine), 1 inch head (giggity), very sessionable while watching baseball. Mouthfeel is creamy and lucious with a nice earthy flavor.

    Hello again. :)
    Time for more beer!

And what with it being Easter weekend, what's more fitting than starting off with...

    (Alc. 4.2%)

Smell: Cocoa powder, right there, up front. Some sweet malt backs it up. Perhaps a bit of biscuit whisps in the background.

Taste: Chocolate. I mean, cocoa really, but... I don't even taste the beer. It's like chocolate soda, but not as sugary. No bitterness, except for a slight moment a few seconds after swallowing a sip/gulp. But that's it.

Overall, a really pleasant cocoa shandy! Way more drinkable than I thought it was going to be. I'm not sure how it'd go after having a few, but at just one... I'm doing my best not to gulp it down too fast.
