    At Bellefonte brewery.
Pretty good. Lots of choices but unfortunately could only try 4.
I will come back if the chance arises.

    Well, shit.
Here I was, all happy to grab some craft beer from Mexico to get my Untappd badge for today, but then... shit outta luck.
No micro-brews from Mexico at the liquor store and not enough time to find another store.
    So, what do I do?

    This:
    (Alc. 5.4%)

Smell: Even-tempered with slightly sweet, roasted malt. Tiny bitter edges.

Taste: Mirrors the smell, except a watered down version.

Overall, it's a roasted malt lager that tastes like what Budweiser would taste like if it were darker in color.

(Now I'll catch up on the next couple pages while I slug back these "beers".)

I bought a variety 6 pack today. Wasn't really in the mood for beer today but for when I am in the mood I am most excited to try: Evil Twin Sour Bikini and Fullsteam Southern Basil farmhouse ale. The Southern Basil is especially intriguing, cant say i've ever tried a beer brewed with basil before

farmhouse ales have really been my jam lately. Also picked up a Thomas Creek Honeysuckle Saison

I get why people would think that was awesome
    But honestly?
Hauling off and punching Snooki in the face because of some dumbshit words?

I'm thinking the douche bag is the jock with no impulse control.
(And would've been much more awesome if someone kicked him in the nuts for his snowflake kneejerk reaction.)

Drinking erie brewing skipper stout. One of the best beers I ever had.

Hard to pinpoint the tastes but it's a sweet chocolate and coffee taste stout.

Woah, not much activity here in the past 5 days or so!
But I'm back again, this time with a couple new brews.

    First up:
    (Alc. 8.2%)

Smell: Oak and sweet, roasted malt. A bready body follows. Just a faint hint of a bitter hop edge.

Taste: Bitter hops strike first and last throughout, lingering even stronger in the back end. Toasted oak colors in a few details. Bready body is trimmed down on the palate to a background note.

Overall, much hoppier than I expected and I don't taste any of the maple syrup. It's dry and somewhat bitter. (This batch was also bottled 5 months ago, so it may be waning from it's full glory at this point.)

Actually the 2x Oak'd was pretty malty for an IPA. I was getting almost more of a malt presence than a hop one. I was not a huge fan, and generally speaking, ST's beers don't do it for me anymore.

I haven't been posting the beers I drink on here lately, just on Untappd. I have been drinking lots of good stuff lately, though, from names like Grimm, Singlecut, Cascade, Hoof Hearted and others.

Yeah, whenever I open Untappd, there's your recent reviews at the top of my page.
(So I get to see them either way!) :)

But yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Southern Tier, but it was a decent option.
(Except for the part where it was bottled longer ago than I would've liked.)
Not sure if it's age had anything to do with the malt/hops vibe, but... there ya have it.

    But the second beer... well...

...let me just go on and post my review of it!

    Troegs, Troegenator:
    (Alc. 8.2%)

Smells like: Bready cracker, toasted cherry and possibly a hint of peach off in the distance. Sweet, but subdued, caramelized malt. Wispy chocolate influences the overall palate.

Tastes like: Smoky, roasted sweet malt. Hops, under shadowy cover, round out the edges with a bit of bitterness. Bready chocolate also hovering between mid- and background. Dark cherry skin notes fill in the rest of the details.

Overall, a little sweet, but complex and pleasant. A warm friend to hang out with you next to a campfire. Do not gulp!

How far are you from Torrance? That is where Monkish is located -- one of the best breweries in the US.

I have a couple Modelo Negros in the fridge.
But I'm done for the night.

And PBR reminds me of going to this mostly-punk bowling alley/bar, once upon a time.
Not that that's a bad thing.

They had fucking awesome tater tots.
