So far tonight it's been 1) Cocoa Cocao from Dugges (Landvetter, Sweden) in collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal (Baltimore, Maryland). An imperial stout brewed with cocao, vanilla and coconut. This is a very sweet dessert imperial stout. Very slick, full-bodied mouthfeel with a rich chocolate flavor and a hint of vanilla and coconut, as well as some dark fruit and berry flavors. 11.5% ABV 4.25/5 2) Heady Topper from The Alchemist (Stowe, Vermont). Tongue scraping green hop bitterness to the max. 8% ABV 4.75/5 3) Focal Banger from the Alchemist. Super hoppy like the former, but less bitter and more floral. My favorite Alchemist beer. 7% ABV 4.9/5
I hope that is not the can you drank, as looking at it would indicate it's probably from the 70s or early 80s. But seriously, I love this beer. It is by far my favorite cheap beer, and it's from Rochester to boot. I was literally drinking a 24 oz. can of this 15 minutes ago when I read this post. I went to Wegmans to get a few things, and despite drinking a number of top shelf beers already this evening, I wanted something crisp and clean the cleanse my palate, so I picked up a can. At $1.29 for 24 ounces, you simply cannot go wrong. Me @ 9:20 PM If I look a little wild-eyed in this pic, it's probably because I ate some shrooms about 8 hrs ago and am still feeling some slight effects.
It was great. Psilocybin is by far my favorite psychedelic when taken in light to moderate doses. It really seems to compliment the weather this time of year, but will so even more in the next 1-2 months.
I am now drinking my third Alchemist beer of the night. This is The Crusher, a double IPA. This is my least favorite of the big three alchemist IPAs, but still awesome nevertheless. Super green, resinous, dank and STRONG!! 9% ABV 4.5/5
This will likely be my final beer of the night. This is Super Going by Grimm, a dry-hopped gose brewed with orange zest and conditioned on oak. This has a super tart bite with some orange rind and oak in the finish. Very crisp, clean and dry. 4.8% ABV 4.5/5
I found some Miller in my uncle's cellar. He stopped drinking ages ago so ever since he found Jesus. So he wouldn't care if I took it. It was the nastiest beer I ever tasted. Not because it was Miller. But because it was dated 1998.
Kinda stoned on Infused Almond Milk. listening to The Who. /Tommy/.. Right now I'm taking in Acid Queen .. Lots of pleasant high notes, funky flavor, The fruit character is weak compared to the other songs from this album.. Next up is "Underture" a ultra smooth instrumental that is dangerously listenable.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFLbLQ2pKuo
I have been spoiling myself with awesome beer over this past week of vacation. First beer of the night was from the world renowned Hill Farmstead (Greensboro Bend, Vermont). This is their Double Galaxy, an imperial IPA. This is perhaps the best New England IPA I have had next to Bissell Brothers' Swish and Tree House's Very Green. This is a super soft, super smooth double IPA that is just brimming with juicy tropical fruit flavors and green, earthy goodness. 8% ABV 5/5 PHENOMENAL!!!
Next I had the new beer from the 'Pop' Series by Grimm (New York City) of lactose and fruit infused Berliner weisse beers. This is their Pineapple Pop. Creamy mouthfeel yet crisp, with a sweet and sour pineapple bite. The lactose imparts a yogurt-like flavor. 4.8% ABV 4.25/5 Then it was Julius from Tree House (Monson, Mass), an IPA. Light, soft and ultra smooth. Brimmimg with tropical fruit flavors, citrus zest, juicy peach, some breadiness, and a grassy finish. Absolutely incredible!! 6.8% ABV 5/5 This was followed by Eureka, also by Tree House, an American blonde ale. Lots of earthy, grassy hops upfront with a prolonged bready malt finish. 4.2% ABV 4.5/5 I am now drinking Vanilla Oak-Aged World Wide Stout from Dogfish Head (Milton, Delaware). SUPER BOOZY, but rich and delicious. Lots of roasted, dark chocolate malts, some dark fruits, a hint of vanilla, and lots of oak character. 17% ABV 4.3/5
I think I may cut myself off after this point and just smoke weed for the rest of the night, but we'll see. This is Pink Lemonade IPA, an IPA with lemon and raspberry added. This is brewed by Evil Twin (Brooklyn, NY) in collaboration with Omnipollo (Stockholm, Sweden). Sweet, sour and super refreshing. 7% ABV 4/5
Drinking Heavy Mettle from Trillium (Boston, Mass), a double IPA. This is the strongest, booziest Trillium I've had to date. Lots of juicy peach, mango and apricot, and a green earthy dankness in the finish. Medium bodied, and with a low carbonation. The ABV contributes to a slight warming feel going down. 9.3% ABV 4.5/5
