I think it's almost impossible for someone like Trump to give this much thought toward the issues of homeless people regardless of how they have their orgasms or how they "designate" their genitals. Honestly, I just don't see how this is even the smallest blip on the edge of his radar screen. However, I am almost certain that Pelosi knows exactly what supermarket brand is on the handles of the grocery carts that trans-homeless folks use to shuffle their crap around town. Something to ponder folks. You absolutely MUST have a plan on the odd chance you are absolutely, 100% wrong. It CAN happen. I experienced this in 1999 as the Y2K issue was looming. I had exactly enough resources to buy a generator and 800 gallons of fuel. Which could have easily purchased 6 months worth of food. I took a leap of faith. I figured that systems using 2 fields for the date (year) had been obsolete since the mid-80s. And what do you know, they were. This led to my realizing that any effect this issue (Y2K) might have in the real world would likely be mitigated by everyone who stood to lose their reality if the great American machine failed to start on Saturday morning year 2000. Or Monday as work resumed. My greatest puzzlement these days is how easily younger generations are fooled by political rhetoric. Seriously folks, taking rights from people who don't hold your opinion, is fucking WRONG. Consider who are the ones who can do this. Another hint; While you cheer as they silence people you don't like, how long until YOU are someone THEY don't "like"? Equal is equal, assholes.
Hey there HIP... I'm back again. I may only have one review tonight though. Or rather, only one new beer to review. There's a chance I'll try the Yin and Yang beers together as the black & tan they're meant to be. In which case, I might make a comment about what it was like. But for now... Beer #1: (Alc. 6.1%) (Departed Soles - Hoppy Little Trees) Smell: Peach and orange, backed up by dry hops. Edges rounded by sweet notes (due to milk sugar). Taste: Peach, nectarine pith, and a bit of orange citrus lead the way along a dry hopped path, with traces of sweet undergrowth. Overall, it's a kinda juicy, kinda hoppy experience. The bitterness from the dry hops is most pronounced in the backend. Decent brew, but not entirely my thing. It's not disappointing or anything, I"m just not as excited as I'd hoped to be. Happily, I was able to find a related pic for this pretty quickly. Ready to giggle? Let's check it out!
So, this is another review... but only kinda. It's that Yin Yang B&T I was talking about. Except I poured it wrong, so it's more like a "mostly black". Anyway... This is what I'm talking about: (Alc. 10%) (Evil Twin - Yin Yang) The smells are confusing, so I'm heading to tastes. Tastes: The chocolate stout notes are bold, but they've done a Cloak & Dagger with Yin... joining forces with the oat and subtle stone fruit notes of Yang. Overall, this was obviously going to be a tasty concoction. I think I prefer the stout on it's own, but I prefer them together as a B&T over the straight IPA. But, that comes down to personal preference more than overall quality and depth. I'm just happy to finally try this combo!
Not sure what the Marines thing is about, but I recently saw the Drinking Crayons brew in a notification from Untappd. I'd love to give it a try! (But you can keep the Genesee, lol.)
Dear Kick Boxers, I'm sorry I'm not around as much as I used to be. Things have been crazy... between the end of the school year, extracurricular activities, family stuff, and remodeling our home... time just ain't what it used to be! I still love yous though. *smooshes faces* Anyhoo... I got beers again! Finally! Beer #1: (Alc. 6.5%) (Jughandle - Background Radiation) Smell: Nectarine and sweet pineapple pith lead the way. Hay notes bring up the rear on a biscuit body. Taste: Stone fruit steps up with citrus pith following all along the way, leading to slight hay notes on a biscuity body. Easy bitter hops outro. Overall, this is a fairly standard, well-made NEIPA. Juicy with bitter notes, easy to drink, tempered by dry hops. (No idea what to use for a hottie pic on this one, sorry.)
our go to beer.. maybe the best cheep beer on the market. PR turned us on to it and not turning back,, never a hangover, never a sick .. could get 12 on with no problem.. in fact love the beer. they a strawberry cream ale. like to try for flavor funs. but cream ales are great got no money beers..
Fair enough. I mean, can't complain too much if there's no hangover or getting sick! But what I CAN complain about is my computer smacking me upside the head with some massive update that only got as far as 27% before I reset the comp and said "fuck you" to it. yarg
So, my computer was like "Important update. Do it now?" a couple times, to which I said "later". Then it came up again... just as I was hitting Enter, which ended up confirming "Do it tonight". It got to about 27% before I said fuck this and reset my comp. So, here's the review I wrote out on a piece of paper... Beer #2: (Alc. 9.1%) (Departed Soles - Autohops) Smells: Dank peaches and honey. Bready body with distant pine. Tastes: Dank honey and subdued peach take the stage, while a peppery biscuit body lends support to a faint note of farmhouse hops. Overalls, this reminds me of dark honey. There's some farmhouse sensibility, but not actual production. It's thickish and gutturally pleasant. (Too aggravated by updating bullshit to search for a pic right now.)
Ok, so, the final review of the night goes to a stout. Because, as much as I enjoy trying all kinds of beer, stouts are my true love. Beer #3: (Alc. 10.1%) (Cape May - Concrete Ship) Smellin: Faint bourbon behind chocolate tinted black coffee. Sweet malt enveloping the experience. Tastin: Black coffee, soaked in bourbon, steps forward with dark chocolate. Complimentary sweet malt rounds out the smokey oak bottom. Overallin, it's another rather pleasant stout. It could be argued that there's hidden raisin notes in the distant underbelly, but it's really a standard chocolate/coffee stout... with added smoky bourbon notes. Pretty good shit. (And really, not sure how a WW1 naval folly results in any kind of sexy pic here, so the night should conclude without any pics.) (BUT.. I can't just let it go like that!) (So, lemme find a decent pic of some kind, yeah? Like, related or not? Yeah?) (yeah) (so....) Absolutely unrelated, but here ya go anyway!
Hey, there people. I know I'm not around much these days, but I have an excuse for like, the past couple months. We've been remodeling our home and it's a pretty massive undertaking, so a lot of nights are going towards getting it done. (I'm a bit surprised I made it to drinking tonight, to be honest.) But hey, I'm here, you're here (maybe), and it's time for beer! Beer #1: (Alc. 7%) (Edmund's Oast - Bound By Time) Smell: Dank-ish, piney hops with a backdraft of hay on a biscuit, with a faint edging of white pepper. Taste: Slightly sweet pine carries over dry hops and faint hay. Served on a thick cracker edged with white pepper. Overall, this is a smooth, dry IPA. The sweetness is muted, as is the bitterness... yet it all manages to have a bold profile, partially due to the peppery heat on the back end. It seems refined... but that might just be the subconscious influence of the label art. Good shit. And it seems like it should lend itself to a great selection of pics. But it didn't. I was able to find this though:
Do all of you remember hearing jokes a long time ago? Were they funny? I mean... do you remember it at all? Like... (Alc. 7.2%) (Singlecut - Does Anybody Remember Laughter?) Smells: Honeyed melon and dank hay on a cracker? Tastes: Spiced farmhouse sensibility with a honeyed pine background, resting on a bit of a biscuity body. Ending with a chest-warm afterthought. Overall, the body has a fairly creamy thickness. It would go better with a sunset than a sunrise, if that helps. Somewhat earthy, it's agreeable temper brings me back sip after sip. And again, I thought I'd have an easy time finding a pic. But, alas... it was not so. But I DID find this:
And finally, the last beer of the night... Beer #3: (Alc. 7.5%) (Fat Orange Cat - She Drives a Plymouth Satellite) Smellins: Sweet stone fruit holds hands with pine. A touch of grapefruit rides on the cracker body. Wheat bows on the outro. Tastins: Dank stone fruit and pine lead the way. A biscuit body carries a bit of grapefruit pith, with a wheaty outro. Overallins, this has that Five Alive vibe I've talked about before. Both earthy and bitter-juicy. Not my favorite style, but well done for what it is. Unfortunately, I didn't find any good hottie pics for this. But, as always, please feel free to add your own!
Oh hai! I'm sorry guys. I keep popping in for a night, then disappearing for weeks. And this time, a whole month! But hey.. it's not you. It's me. (And a house redesign, summer activities, etc) So again, sorry I'm not around often. I should really cut out some Twitter time and come here instead! But, I'm here now. And if that doesn't count for something, maybe my "descent into madness" themed night of beer will. Beer #1: (Alc. 8%) (Prairie Artisan Ales - Phantasmagoria) Smell: Apricot and somewhat pithy grapefruit on a biscuit, with a little pepper heat on the sides. Taste: Apricot with a touch of grapefruit pith and, further back, a hint of pine. The creamy body feels biscuit-y. Somewhere in the distance, pepper notes. Overall, this is surprisingly more smooth than I expected. Instead of being bitter or strongly pithy on the front end, it's much calmer. Very drinkable. Kinda dangerously so for something clocking in at 8%. Good shit. . . . And yes, I found a pic. But... umm... It's gonna be a weird night:
(Hi, Orison!) So, that may have been a slightly weird first beer, in label and sexy pic. But now? Now it's time for... Beer #2: (Alc. 7.2%) (Abomination Brewing - Only Hell Can Save Us Now) Smells: Passion fruit and guava introduce slightly bitter hops, with vanilla-sweet lactose playing just behind them. (Not sure if more cracker or biscuit for the body.) Tastes: Raspberry and guava step gently forward, bringing passion fruit with them. Hushed vanilla hides hefty hops. It tries to get bitter on the outro, but remains calm, even if twangy. Overalls, this is a pretty tasty brew! I know it's described with slight flavors, but they combine to create a fully fleshed out profile. It's mostly opaque with some sediment in my glass. Another brew that's exceedingly easy to drink! . . . I guess it's not weird that Hell makes for good pics, hey? I told you it'd be a weird night...
A "Weird Night" I Hear You Say........I Don't See Anything Different To Any Other Night On "The Kick Box"..... Cheers Glen.
HEy, there GLENGLEN... I'm still getting throguh my fucking reviews. In fact, this is the beginning of the third one. And it doesn't even have a hottie pic to go with it. blaerghj Beer #3: (Alc. 10.5%) (Edmund's Oast - Azathoth) Smellth: Standard black coffee, dark chocolate, molasses. Light bread/heavy biscuit body. Sweet malt comes in at a good clip. Tasth: Black coffee with hints of dark chocolate. Tinny molasses on a bready biscuit. Sweet, smoky malt builds throughout. Overalth, this is a fairly standard stout. It's a bit on the smoky side and pretty tasty. Not my favorite, but there's nothing wrong. A good showing. . . . And for the pic? HELL if I know, but let's see what I find! *some time passes* Huh... weird. I didn't find anything. HA!
