i will be drinking these new belgiums until the store runs out of them. they have about 4-5 cases left.
Moving on to C.R.E.A.M. from SIxpoint. This is a cream ale brewed with coffee. 7.2% ABV. I just noticed this beer is well past its prime with a best by date of 7/11/16. Pours a golden-amber color with little head. Aroma is of coffee, some sweet caramel malts, and some earthy notes. Flavor is of coffee, sweet caramel malts, cream, toffee and vanilla. Mouthfeel is light-medium and smooth. Overall rating: B
Now it's Hi-Res from SIxpoint, an imperial/double IPA. 10.5% ABV Pours a clear, deep gold with a tight 1/8 inch head. For being such a high ABV beer, the nose is quite subdued. I am getting notes of sweet hops, tropical citrus (pineapple, mango), lemon-lime, honeydew, pine resin, slight honey, some floral notes, and some caramel malt. Flavor is Intensely bitter at the front of the tongue, with a dank, resinous pine character. Towards the middle of the mouth the tropical citrus kicks in with flavors of grapefruit, mango, candied orange and lemon rind, honey, and some sweet, bready, caramel malts. Alcohol is very well hidden for 10.5% ABV. Mouthfeel is medium to full with a smooth mouthfeel and crisp carbonation. Overall rating: A-

Finally getting around to drinking the Lowcountry Pilsner by Palmetto Brewing i bought earlier this week. So what i wanna know about these beer reviews is - does the lacing really matter? Or are these beer reviewers just being pretentious? Anyways, good head, nice carbonation, delicate sweet little baby lacing..mouthfeel is pilsner in mouth. God i'm good at this Its not bad though.
i will say one thing from that side, and it reminds me of talking about color. lacing matters because of consistency of head and carbonation.... shit i cant even fake it. its ridiculous to think lacing matters unless it is lack of lacing because its not carbonated, and some beers are better with little carbonation. so lacing means nothing in the way of being good or bad. all that it means is if i dont rinse my glass right away it will be harder to clean later.
i have said the 18% one, the coffee one, and the ibu one.....and the session one but only a few times in a good way. the hoppy one i dont get, that could be macros too...just not lagers
Thats quite hoppy..because almost every american craft beer is quite hoppy, but what a surprise this paricular one is quite hoppy!
Stouts generally are not very hoppy, nor are porters, pilsners and sours. But they can be. The lacing has a lot to do with a beer's head retention, which in turn says a lot about the body of the beer (is it thick and creamy, or thin and flat?). But it probably doesn't mean a whole lot to people who are not beer connoisseurs. Haha, the meme is funny. It would be funnier if the guy looked more stereotypically hipster, though. Plus he needs to pour that shit into the proper glassware. Drinking it from the bottle? That is just absurd!! Yeah, beer reviews are pretentious, but some people are just really into beer. However, I do wonder how many people hide their alcoholism behind their obsession with craft beers. With all the new beers constantly coming out, it can become overwhelming and there is this urge to try everything that sounds good and interesting. Plus, it becomes fucking expensive!!
