I have 5 swords. I can't recall, but I don't believe that any of them weigh over 4 lbs...probably not even over 3 lbs. One of them is an actual American Civil War saber. Fun.
Well, no...not in the strictest sense. I have practiced a bit of slashing with some of them, it does take more technique than one might expect. I have always wanted to take up fencing, beginning with epees, and moving up (I had hoped) to larger types, such as sabers.
I've studied kendo which is similar to fencing. It's more a sport than a martial art. I'd like to study kenjutsu. Now that's truly training to use katana

Those are cheap imitation katana. True sword forging is a dying art. It's sad. Most westerners who have what they think is a legit Japanese katana is actually soft steel manufactured in China. I think in my lifetime i will see the end of the true katana
The real Fast and the Furious. Many people with fast cars don't have this kind of attitude. Midnight Club: Inside Japan’s most infamous illegal street racing gang The club was bound by a strict moral code which dictated that members must refrain from putting any other motorist in jeopardy, regardless of whether they were a fellow racer or an innocent bystander and, despite operating outside of the law, the Midnight Club was highly regarded as a gang which put pedestrian safety far above their own. Such was the sheer skill level required to safely pilot a car at Vmax speed on public streets, only one in ten prospective drivers would qualify for full membership. Any member would be made to immediately leave if they were deemed to pose a danger to other road users or to other members of the gang.
