6 hours! Yeah I heard about the coffee and I may try it. I just wouldn't know how much to use. I'm not letting it defeat me though. I'm going to henna once a week for the next 7 weeks then try a darker colour. The only thing it's done is hide my patches of red dye and make my hair feel like it's never been in better condition.

for henna, use lemons instead of water to mix it with. it will make a BIG difference
however, i used lush henna and i found it pretty crap, so i now use henna from a healthfood store; cheaper and better.

Wouldn't know what to do; Doesn't henna from a health shop come in red only? I dunt want red I want broon.

Edit. Looked on holland and barrett because I don't know what health shops look like unless they say holland and barrett on the shop front.

£8.99 for henna dye is way more expensive than lush's. Sure lush's are £7.49 but fuck you get 4 times as much than a shitty 389 ml box of henna from H&B.
But I only need to spend £7.49 on one henna block at lush whereas I would need to spend £26.97 at h&b as I'd need at least 3 boxes of henna.
I'm just gonna keep trying it. Apparently the more you do it the more it gets better.

I'm not going to spend the day squeezing lemons so unless I can use Jiff.... But I will put coffee in it when I henna again on Monday. Or Tuesday. My hair was a bit greasy so I'm gonna put it down to not having uber clean hair.

I think it looks great. I henna'd my hair and used coffee to make a thickish paste, and didn't leave it in for too long and got a rich coffee brown. I think if you want more brown to show use coffee if you want reddish tones use lemon.

I used Light Mountain Worked really good for my hair.

Also if I am correct, buying straight henna would make your hair red or auburn. But if you buy a pre made mix that claims it to be brownish it has indigo in it.

The only noticeable difference is that it has gotten rid of my red and blonde bits of dread. But it looks the same shade as normal with a hint of red.



HAHA! Everyone in the pub I go to always ask me if I'm okay. I apparently always look miserable or pissed off but I'm not. It's just the way my face falls.

I'd rather people think I'm pissed off, then they on't talk to me. EVERYONE in the town always wants to talk about my hair and it's boring me to tears.

I am extremely new to henna. Never really cared for it and I'm a bit... apprehensive about mixing my own colours. Right now, I'm happy to keep trying the lush stuff but of it fails I'll definitely educate myself in mixing.

How much coffee do you use as an estimate and can instant coffee be used? Off topic, I'm knackered but these past 4 days I cannot sleep at all. Grrr
