I was (havent changed profile in like 4 years), but its just how ignorant Conservatives r. Democrats rnet as ignorant. Like i am for gays, for stem cell research (which by the way u can get from an umbilblical (or however u spell it) tube), and equal rights for almost everyone, except Pedophiles. my conservative values are anti abortion (unless u were raped, u should go through having a child and put it up for adoption) and preserving Religous values in the Governmant. I am now almost 18 and am forming my own views instead of just what my parents told me was right and wrong. I agree on them on some things and disagree with them on others.

fair enough. i think that it must be quite hard if u r gay and come from a very religious family. i had no christian 'teachings' when i grew up and absolutely no christian indoctrination from my parents or teachers, so when i came out i didn't have to struggle with my faith for acceptance. i had 2 good friends: one guy was a methodist and he still has very deep anxiety and self-hatred i guess u would say around being gay, although he is over 50 and been out 4 a long time. my other friend was brought up as a catholic and in this country boy do they get a brainwashing. he never was able 2 come 2 terms with his homosexuality, hardly had any sexual encounters in his life and could never relax enough to receive pleasure. 4 many gay people in this situation it seems like an impossibility 4 them to leave their church, yet their church will never accept them 4 who they are.

 

well my family rnt fundamentalists, where they believe everything is black and white in the bible. They accepted me and dont think i will burn in hell for it. An interesting fact is that infamous line from 1 Corinthians that tells us we r going to hell, The line in the 1940s was "abusers". In the 1960s the fundamentalists changed that verse and it said "abusers of men". then in the 1970s when Pro gay was in full swing, they changed it again to "homosexuals". It pities me how many homosexuals turn away from faith just because of redneck fundamentalist idiots screaming that they will burn in hell.

it really made me sick with the Episcopal church (im Episcopal). When 1 gay bishop comes along, 1/3 of the congregation leaves. If it was a serial baby killer who raped 20 year old women instead of him being gay, only like a thousand nationwide would have left the church. It really, really pisses me off when these fundamentalist go out and say no sin is greater than another, yet they evidently think homosexuality is worse than any other sin.

good on u. my family was mixed about me. my old man never accepted it and my mother is absolutely fabulous. we often pick out spunky men to each other 2 drool over. i find acceptance is also a big thing 4 me 2. accepting u, for instance, although ur political views r so very differnt from mine, doesn't come automatic 4 me: i have 2 work on it. but i find the results r usually pleasing :sunglasse
