why couldn't i recall bass ale? lol

Not if you can remember Courage & Barclay Ales...suddenly Bass seems like yesterday,does it not?

 

Aren't ales a bit weak and tasteless?

Indeed,they are somewhat insipid.
I have supped a few,on rare occasions and found them wanting.
However,not myself being a drinker,I'm not really qualified to offer up an opinion other than
"I wouldn't waste my hard-earned on that stuff.

Although,having said that,I was given a bottle of Orkney Island whiskey 2/3 years ago and have to admit,on a really cold evening having gotten home from work,a small tot [a cap-full] in a mug of hot strong coffee is most agreeable.
Still have about 2/3rds of the bottle.
It does seem to mellow with age.....

 

How do you feel about stouts & porters?

Ah. Well,I have been known to give in to the lure of an occasional Guinness.

I don't have anything AGAINST drinking,you understand,it's just something I never seem to get around to. Plus,as I said,the few I've tried really weren't worth the price.

However,Guinness,ESPECIALLY when I'm in Ireland-now there's a pint hard to resist.
