thanks dude...how often do u get them done, how long have u been growing? it would be 3 yrs in feb for me. when i started they got retouched like once every 2 weeks then once a month then after they locked up which took prob like 3 months after that i just forgot about them and let them do their thing. i kno its hard but dont be caught up on their length, they are never gunna grow as fast as u would like them to. also take a lot of pics with friends or when u go out so you can see your growth. i feel like when you live w/ them for so long they just feel like they are not going anywhere.

 

well.... it's a monthly thing for me. or so.....
i've been cultivating these babies for about 8-10 months?? i would say......
i'm not really sure about the date, but yeah. they look awesome after retouched. they even move!! but man... sleeping is a problem for me. i've tried all kinds of techniques, caps, pantyhoses (lol), bandanas. ect ect.....

when i wake up seems a train ran me over. plus the new-grown hair starts to show up and i still don't have the ability of auto-knotting.... (i sure you know what I mean)

I've taken some pics.... (85% of them I don't like) cuz its exactly like you say..... they don't grow as fast as I would like them to.

i try every month but in reality its every other month. i used a du-rag when i slept when they were really short. i kno what you mean about them lookin all crazy after you wake up or how about them feelin all weird on your ears when you are laying down, i hated that! its a process my dude gotta tough it out. but get a du-rag from the corner store, i promise you sleep will no longer be an issue and they will look fresh a lot longer cuz you are not rolling around on them. My lady knots the roots some how when i get them done so whatever new growth i have just grows like my hair maybe a lil more straight cuz of the weight of them.

They look good. I think everyone is self concious in the biginning stages of dreads. They look fine and they will grow, just forget about them!. And they're hurting cause when they get touched up they're so tight. Which is why I just leave mine and ley nature take it's course. They're not the same kind of(Some would say they're not proper) dreads when they get touched up.

Also, you can get alopecia if your hair is pulling 24/7
