If high school kids are going to trick or treat they should at least wear a mask. The nerve coming to ask for candy without a costume, that's just lazy.
Not really when I was in high school a few friends and I used to do that on our way home from practice. We'd hit a few homes and come away with a few candy bars each for some quick energy :2thumbsup: Hotwater
There should be another Halloween on December 31. Christmas sucks. Most people just treat it as a holiday to buy cheap crap at Future Shop and K Mart. Perhaps I could go out singing Christmas carols dressed as the devil :reddevil:
The news is reporting how eating candy can lead to health problems... Kids can't even enjoy their loot anymore without being told they'll turn into toothless diabetics for eating it. Fucking tv.
Big thing for some of the kids to do on Halloween here back when I was young, they would cut down many many trees along the narrow country roads, the bus couldn't run, so they got a free skip day from school....;-) I always thought this was pretty stupid tho.
Halloween should be a holiday, or at least the day after. Most people celebrate it so why shouldn't it be one. Legally if your practice witchcraft you can take halloween off as a religous holiday. I don't think that excuse would work on my boss though.
Here's my Halloween adventure. Awesome night, felt like I was going in fast forward through the whole damn thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJWw69lO6Jo"]YouTube - Romeo's Halloween Party w/ Club 27
Halloween is becoming just as consumeristic (is that a word?) as christmas. Costumes and decorations are a multimillion dollar industry. Thats why i always try to make homemade costumes. I hate how our society takes anything good and turns it into another excuse to fuel the economy.
yeah streets that look like this.. or this.. This.. Or this. Saddam's Palace, BEFORE they tore the heads off.
I agree. But Halloween didn't start out as the birthday of a supposed son of god/ god incarnate and turn into a week long sale on LCD TV's.
lol true. I absolutely hate christmas for that reason. I went to a halloween store with a friend of mine last thursday and the long lines and general consumer craziness made it feel a lot more like the shopping frenzy of christmas, though. Other than the fact that store bought costumes are way too popular and girls use the day as an excuse to spend 80 dollars on a costume that barely covers their ass, i love halloween.
Stores around here are already putting up christmas stuff. A couple even started putting out stuff before halloween was over.
