Hand waving technique in the face of real evidence, isn't it familiar to us... You must be at home with those darwinists who argue with me on the other thread.
What 'real' evidence?! You posted a link to 500 pages of text! Where's your evidence? EDIT I've done it myself. Read onwards from page 59 (in particular page 63), and tell me where it says a man can HAVE slave women and sleep with them. I've just read it myself, and I haven't read anything of the sort.
I had a couple of slave women and 'slept' with them, as the saying goes. But shortly after that, the alarm went off. Dreams are meant to be enjoyed. Four wives would be a bit much, though. Actually, as far as 'sleeping with' a woman goes, this is a free speech forum, so I guess I can say 'fuck' and not get banned or anything. As far as actually holding slaves goes, or actually keeping women under conditions common under Islam, I can't begin to imagine doing that.
You were probably walking straight under the table when I began studying history, philosophy and world religions. As to the link provided, nothing could be more convenient. Since it's in google all you have to do is type any subject of your interest in search box and click search. It will highlight all the pages of the text where searched word appears.
Oh right, I'm sorry. In that case I should just accept that you know everything there is to know about history, philosophy and world religions?! Of course, my ideas are far less superior to yours, you know everything there is to know about everything. I didn't ask you how exactly to find that information myself, I just wondered why the hell you posted a link to 500 pages of text that didn't answer a single thing in question. You should also have seen that I did look myself, and couldn't find anything you're on about. Care to actually quote the sections of text you're refering to? Please?! I can't make you see how much this means to me but I wouldn't accept a religion if I didn't understand its teachings. I've looked into it a thousand times and answered so many questions of which I've had doubt. I know you have an interest in world religion but Islam is part of my life, or at least it will be. I've even spent some time in some poor Islamic countries where women are opressed and they live by the same views that you believe to be true. It's all so wrong, yes by my own standards and by many modern thinking worlds too, but also in Islam. I start Arabic classes on Friday. Then I'll be able to read the 'real' Qur'an for myself. For someone as passionate about it as you, perhaps it's something you'll consider valuable too. Then maybe you won't have to depend on the right or wrong translations of others?
