When I was a kid, my mom would fill a full shopping cart with everything for a family of seven and it would be $100-125. I bought one bag of groceries this morning and it was $125.
Looked at the price of a can of Folger's at the store this afternoon. It's up two dollars from June!!
In response to the Trumpo's tariffs I have stocked up a few things... coffee being one of them. I found a sale at Safeway of all places, and grabbed a couple of bags. Cafe Bustelo from Puerto Rico is at the same price however, no tariffs as it is the US.
I go to Lidl for my shop now £50-60 shop and it feels like a good haul, one full backpack and two shopping bags. £30 in Sainsburys barely fills my back pack, but Sainsburys/Iceland/Tesco do stock things that are needed for us like my sisters favourite crisps and frozen veg. Trying to make it so I only need the big named shops once a fortnight now.
