I've never liked chocolate much at all, my bf has always been a chocaholic and he eats raw cacao nibs, grounds them makes chocolate pudding, fudge, cookies with chocolate, smoothies, etc.

There's plenty of ways to get iron in a vegetarian diet, I've had mine checked and not iron deficient, nor in protein or anything. On soy, most of it is g.m.o it's not difficult to find soy that is not thought, because lots of people have voiced their concerns.

But I think if anything is a conspiracy concerning a vegetarian diet, it is soy consumption. I rarely eat soy, when I first started I did, now very rarely, it's not necessary. It's easy to keep up with a vegetarian diet if you start out very careful/dedicated, eventually it will become habit you wont' have to think to much about waht you need to eat. Some people eat soy all day and all night, it's not really that good for you, really it's not. It's not the worst thing you could eat, but it's not the food of all foods.

Vegan food pyramid is absolute bullshit and that it's sooo difficult to be a vegan is the true conspiracy.

It most definitely is difficult to be a healthy vego, unless you are firstly, very aware of what you are doing, and secondly very commited. Like anything, good food practices are habitatual - the more you do it - the better you become at it - provided you have had the correct starting basis. Ask any true longterm vego - not the "trendy" late teen early twenties age group of vegos, and they will tell you that being a "happy and healthy" vegetarian requires consistent work, in order to keep meals both appetising and nutritional. Nobody enjoys eating the same foods, prepared in only a handful of ways year after year - vego of not. It is foolish to beleive otherwise.

As a dietician, I find that ridiculous. I would never encourage a patient to take up a vego diet for those reasons. I do most definitely suggest a diet that includes more fruit, vegetables and seafood.

In my experience of dealing with people suffering from depression (and both my husband and sister do), encouraging a "simplistic", wholesome diet is far more helpful than encouraging a diet which takes a certain degree of "work". The day to day functioning of simple tasks if one of the hardest things for so many depression suffers.

But, each to their own - thus the enjoyment of forums.
