1. I think you can see from this thread and my following answer 2. my typo, communist party 3. that's a big question relating to the traditional core value of chinese. Confucianism talks a lot about hierarchy, people should show respect to seniors and people with higher status. this is a inner respect not just a social convention. your respect to your parent is the most important thing in traditional value which call filial piety. I always appreciate the kindness and love my parent give to me. confucianism also made many rules to obey in order to become a "polite" man that affect me greatly. I have many principals that I have to obey, some are reasonable, some look stupid. like I wont have intercourse with any girl when I know I have no future with her. daoism prevent me from the central stage,I mean I can become good but I dont like others pay too much attention on me that may sound strange for you, but that is the reason why many chinese student, as you can see, dont intend to raise hand in class. overall, the question you ask is too profound for me and I cant give you a clear answer due to the shortage of my knowledge. while, what Im sure about that this traditional mind deeply affect me in different ways even without notice.
This does read sort of like a PR release. As to HF being blocked, as I recall it, one of our members reported that it was for a time, and that now it's not..... probably because we show lots of hate for american and european governments, and generally don't discuss china. We have a poster, who may or may not be the above (there where several people in similar positions who discussed it) with a chinese girlfriend, and who lived there a while. She hated china (at the official, governmental level), I'm pretty sure. We have (had) one alleged barefooter who almost seemed to be a chinese plant who spent too much time reading HF and used barefooting to gain believeability, and now OP shows up and is heavily supported by the gentleman who hates cigarettes and america and women who have sex without long term relationships, like OP's traditional values.... The whole taoist/confucian mindless respect thing is a boon to the party, you respect your elders, no matter how genocidal they are. Also, this post I'm quoting tries too hard to explain something simple like not having sex with anything that moves, for americans, like we can't figure that out. Fuck china('s government). Mao did one good thing, and that was ending foot binding. Other than that, the whole thing is pretty fucked up. Even comparitively restrained deng set tanks on students. Also: http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/27/world/asia/north-korea-china-onion/index.html And while checking out their site, I went to a random english article and seeing that I'm english, they reccomended just for me, two articles about totally scary menacing chinese military drills, and..... this http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90782/8098004.html I kinda like the smog-mask with the ike, with a red star on his hat: http://english.people.com.cn/90782/8094600.html (since we where talking about the environment in china)
Chiang Kai-shek That no-good low-down dirty rat Who used to order his troops To fire on women and children Imagine that imagine that And in the spring of'48 Mao Tse-tung got quite irate And he kicked that old dictator Chiang Out of the state of China Chiang Kai-shek came down in Formosa And they armed the island of Quemoy And the shells were flying across the China Sea And they turned Formosa into a shoe factory Called Taiwan....
1. he born in Hongkong and transfer his nationality to america at 7.2007 while, come back to china/hongkong at 7. 2010. so, right now, I consider he is a chinese. The biggest lies they believe are probably the ones about Mao Zedong. The US media characterises him as an incompetent, genocidal maniac, when nothing could be further from the truth. What they don't know is that the majority of deaths under his leadership were because of famine caused by natural disasters.
2.I want to answer this question to both of you. The natural disaster, in my opinion, is a human-made disaster. the gov made a seires of ridiculous action to manage the country. local officals taken off most of the crop of farmers because they promise to the central gov they can submit this amount of food(which is impossible amount). at that atmosphere,no one dare say no to the dictator, even a very famous chinese scientist graduated from caltech forced to lie that it's possible to achieve the food goal if we have strong desire. of course the weather didnt on our side, either. As a leader, Mao's fault is undeniable.he is good at leading military but lack the most basic concept to manage the gov. I believe the number 45m is convincing, I think the most suitable word to describe the northwestern part of china at that period is hell. people was struggling to get the outskin of tree, what a tragedy for china!! but if you conclude all these faults on MAO is lack of consideration. by no means can one man kill 45m alone. all country fell into a blind Mao's worship like god for chinese. the whole gov was in a crazy state like Japan in WWII (the worship for hirohito ).also like japan the commoner suffer most in the end. So, dont be surprised if north korean do something crazy...... I have to mention it again, I cant guarantee all what I say it's truth since we are not witness of history especially for this "secret part". I wont define china because first,I cant. second, it's useless. just try my best to show the china I know.
please allow me to answer the second one first. I think you can tell whether I am spreading untruth here. If you don’t believe, just let it be a joke. America is definitely better than china in most scientific fields and research atmosphere, which attract me studying aboard. And personally, I think attract talented people all around world getting together and working for America is the most effective way to sustain America in nest few decades. The reason I know HF just because last afternoon I was googling rosey palm and redirected to here….. As for chinese products, I suggest you’d better review your econ book. Both America and china can get benefit from the trade, and it’s American company owners that set their factories in china. If you can accept 2 dollar per hour, I suppose the company owners will be happy to move back because it can save transportation fee. China has a comparative advantage and lower opportunity cost (I am sure you can find both in you econ book) than America. The market will spontaneously move toward efficiency, which means the situation today it’s the decision of market. For human right, that is so complex in my mind, Iam not knowledgeable enough to deal with it. Without doubt America does a better job at this field, but by how much, hard to say. To be frankly, I am not aware of the people you mentioned (just heard him from somewhere), so I am afraid I cant make comment. But the forbidden words and website in Chinese are very normal. Since you seem know something about this man, the reason why you cant search is obvious, right?
I will try my best to rescue it….. I live in a big city of china without a good air. As for environmental problem, I think I get enough credits to answer this question. Both my parents are registered environmental assessment engineer (can they count as right people?) working in this field in 20 years. Fairly, I am disappointed the environmental protection in china. The environment problem is not the key issue to determine the blueprint. All you can do is restricted. Development is always needed to be considered first. Only if the main factor has been solved, we can talk about how to decrease the environment impact. But if you say there is no environmental protection, I dunno where you get this news and so confident to speak it out. China has a series regulation for environmental protection which still plays an important role in the real project. As for dam, I guess you probably mention three gorges dam. The company my father is working for built this dam. Whether build this dam stir a nation-wide argument, which end up with following the mind of Mao. If you are major in environmental science and engineering, there is little tendency to agree with building dam (no matter which one). Because the dam will cause a lot environmental impacts: Inundation, blocking the path of fish causing extinct, and immigration they are all big problems for dam. But a coin has two sides, I don’t need mention the benefit and you can judge it by yourself. PS, there are many beautiful places in china, pollution in rural area is commonly much less than country.
。。。。。。。 This is the only part I do not agree with. There was a natural disaster then a human made disaster - seems more likely - which you go on to say. China has more environmental awareness and a willingness to clean up than America, imho. Progress and protection can go hand in hand. Perhaps China is where the US was a few decades ago - but is more likely to take a more progress stance. It's the sign of the times. e.g http://www.princeton.edu/mae/people/faculty/socolow/china-rapid-deployment-so2-scrubbers.pdf http://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=4410
How would you describe the communist party in China? Is it relevant in Chinese politics? Hierarchy seems to be a common concept among institutional religions. Do you consider Confucianism a religion? That sounds like christian humility. I don't think that concept is valued here. Do Americans seem self-centered and overbearing to you?
Do they have marijuana in China? how about Alcohol? is it frowned upon to partake in either of these acts?
I'm really disappointed by the amount of negativity the OP is getting. We should be better representatives of HF and of Western society in general, and not criticizing his government when we have our own grievances with our own governments that we need to address. It's ridiculous to treat him like the bad guy because he's Chinese. What's the music like in China?
China do a not bad job in environmental protection comparing to other developing country like India(think about the pollution in Ganges which is the heavenly mother river for Hinduism ). In this view, we do a better job. I agree with the last line, china is running the way America having been through. For a developing economy, it’s really hard to balance development and environment problems. America has passed this period, I strongly doubt the environmental awareness during the industrial revolution. There are still a lot poverty in china right now, we have to develop that is the most important thing we care. Just like most American pay more attention on employment other than diplomacy in the election last year.
Well my opinion of op has changed for the better. It's priceless, that the newbie troll tried to come in supporting mao, and the chinese guy put the smack down on mao
Communist party is hard to define. You cant just say it’s good or bad. It contains a lot problem like corruption, lacking human right sense, bureaucratism. While, in another side, china becomes better under the mercy of communist. Some people argue china can become better if we get another govt. I don’t know the answer, it probably true. But the rising or fall of another dynasty will always hurt commoners most (this is a poem line in Chinese “兴,百姓苦。亡,百姓苦”). The communist party is absolutely relevant o Chinese politics. Govt equal to communist party. When you are negotiating with Chinese govt, you are actually negotiating with communist party. Religion is a big part I want to emphasis on. Confucianism is not a religion, if you study it you will know it just teaches you how to behave. As you may know, there is no religion for most common Chinese people and actually it’s a requirement to become a member of communist party. So, a lot of westerns criticize china is a no religion country. But we do have something we believe in : history. Maybe you can regard history as Chinese religion. China has a very long history, we believe we have 5000 years but some western scholars insist 4000 years. And china is the only exist culture of four old culture ( ancient china ,ancient Egypt, ancient India, ancient Mesopotamia ) without interrupt and fully colonization. So, we have some much experience to use when we deal with some problems. In china we have a saying: use history as a mirror can tell the destiny of the country. It’s common we share some values, and what I present doesn’t mean the Americans are self-centeted. I cant tell any relation between both. Actually the America I know at this university is pretty good although we don’t have some deep level conversation.
holy shit dude...your english really improved from your op. you learned about plurals and everything? fraud motherfucker
the op is a fake post..... the differences in the various posts where he/she is faking bad english is glaring....op is dumbing down there own posts but in different ways in different posts...plurals here but not there....bad english but no spelling errors..its a load of bull shit and i cant fuckin believe some of you are fooled i dont give a fuck if they are chinese..italian or fuckin space men..they come on this board and commit posting fraud to fool people.... the fucker didnt fool me
I was giving the benefit of the doubt but was skeptical. The English (spelling etc) is very good - but we have people here from the UK and the US who's English is not brilliant. The Chinese students I know don't have such a high command of the English language as the OP. There does seem an attempt to give the impression their English is a little faulty. Plus they seem to have a member of the family in too many spheres of Chinese life who happens to know what is going on. I was expecting the OP to have a financial wizard as an uncle. The premise of the OP's post might be right, but you don't have to be Chinese to correct prejudices etc.
