That is what they want you to think. It is important for Tesla to be remembered as a nutter because of the ideas he actually had. For example free energy, which he was studying with funding from JP Morgan. When Morgan found this out of course he cut his funding. There is no money in free energy, think of how much energy costs us today between petrol, electricity etc and someone is making a profit on that. Yet we have no option you can not really live without electricity in this day and age can you? IMO he was allot more sane then people think, even at the end. His Tesla energy coils would work with today's technology, when he was testing them there was allot of advances to be made, so they looked a bit impractical. The big joke in later years was his death ray, everyone called him a crazy old man. Yet when he died the US government raids his office and finds the plans for it. It worked just like everything else he thought of.
