    screw the gym
u go to the gym and if u look for the ones with tghe so called most perf4ct bodies, trey getting inside theyre heads, most you'll find are the most insecure screwedup ppl you ever meet
the gyms are just an unhealthy environment, constantly bombarded with seeing other ppl in better shape then you, the competativemness to always get aslittle ahead odf everyone else, it can become obsessive
ive known ppl who spent more time in the gym then at home and would be treaumatized if they had to miss a day

i went to the gym maybe 3 times biyut 15 years ago, never will again..itrs just stupid

well thats your opinion, and a valid one at that, but its one I dont completely share with you. I know there are people like that at the gym, but they are necessary, it reminds me that theres always someone in better shape than me, but im cool with that, the gym is just one part of my life, so i dont expect to be the next mr universe. The gym is a good place to work away any stress and ill will towards others, its my outlet, and I walk out of there feeling great. So to me its not stupid, but thats my experience of the gym.

Maybe you just had a bad experience? I dont know much about you SE, but i've seen from your pics that your in a wheelchair in some, maybe joining a gym would help you out? I dont know, its only a suggestion.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a very long time. Why should anyone enjoy partaking in any sort of hobby, then? Just because there's someone better than you doesn't mean it's stupid, and it doesn't mean it's unhealthy to recognize that. There are people here who have dreads that look a lot better than mine do, and are much more mature. Is that somehow emotionally damaging to recognize? No, and anyone who said so would probably be someone with a lot of personal issues.

I'd rather realize early that I am not the best person in the world at everything, because that's a fact of life. Seeing someone do something you enjoy better than you do can be motivational, and not depressing for a lot of people.

Not to mention working out is a terrific way to keep yourself healthy and a great outlet for natural forms of human aggression and physical contact. I have never spent more than 10 minutes working out (that's an exaggeration), but I still recognize it's merits.

Dreads are very practical exercise hair though :) ...well baby ones anyway hehe. I really like how activity-proof they are. I had the kind of hair that would just turn into an arritating frizz pile at the slightest mention of moisture, and it would feel like some kind of creature clinging to my head. With dreads...you wake up in the morning - you hair is done; you jump around a bit at the gym - hair's still done; dig in the garden for 3 hours in a rain storm (well I do anyway:p) - you hair is still done; go out for a meal in the evening - hair requires no prior warning :)

I'm actually quite surprised how little mention the practicality of dreads gets...in fact I can't recall ever seeing it mentioned...it certainly had some influence on my choice to have them. For me, dreading my hair has partly felt like the liberation of shaving my head, without having to be bald. You know?

I know that didn't have much to do with the gym in the end :p Guess you just triggered a train of thought.

Omg all the time!! Becuase I sleep on my side, only the ones on the side of my head fly away xD

I have a good cure for it though, grab one by the root between you fore and middle finger and sorta massage it into the scalp, calms it down :D

amy thasts you? what a pretty face and gorgouse eyes..theyre green right? wow

    bout the gym..
i gert plenty of excersize running round town, climbing mountains living in the woods a few months a year digging gardens drumming for hours and hours..living live basicly
grunting while liftting the same heavy object over and over with no puroise of actualy getting anythying done aint my style

when i used to do like 20 milesa dayt i hsad shoulders you could brewak a 2x4 over without hurting me the sklightest bit (unfortunately that many miles not only made my muscles like steel but also the knots id get in my neck and shoulders and 20 masssages a day wernt enough to releive the tension and pain)

my point is if you take the time u spend doing nothing but liftying the same weight over and over and insteasd applied it to living and doing things constructive your body still benifitsd and your mind but also your lifde

    suggestion
save the money u spend on the gym
take that time u waste there and use it to volunteer at whatevcer the equavilent to habitat hanity is over there, building houses for the homeless 4 hours a week will give u a great workout and you'll be accomplishing something

work if i remember high school sciebnce was defined as effort applued creatting results,
working out then isnt rewally working because your appkying effort to lifting a weight that never goes anywhere but back down to be lifted again,, massive waste of effort
the same effort when applieed to hanfging drywall creates a home for someone without one, no wasted effort, just work accomplished
if theres nothing like that there, find an empty lit around town grab a shovel and dig a garden
your excfersize will have results then, a lovely garden for all to share
(btwe my shoulders arent nearly as striong now , livin in the suburbs theres nothin to do nowhere to go so i got lazy, but a week or 2 in the mountains is all the excersize i need all year, especialy at high altitudes i get 3 times stronger after just one or 2 weeks (but hurt alot the 1st week)
