the silent letters thread

    I'm stuck on one..maybe two...Shit. I am not helping!!!
    There are a couple that I am stuck on. No wonder Bird is having a hard time.

    without the "e" in fate it becomes fat the e isnt really pronounced and a cam is a projection on a rotating part in machinery, designed to make sliding contact with another part while rotating and impart motion to it. does that help you?

    why cant we just use letter how they were intended to be used, instead of making them silent

    for example, the examples provided would turn to:

    because different spellings also differentiate like knew and ne have two different meanings and your version of sign still has a silent "e"
