The war on Christmas is a myth. The reason you've never met a non Christian who doesnt get offended by Merry Christmas is because no one gets offended. Just something blown out of proportion by right wing media to sow division

The whole cultural appropriation thing with Halloween is dumb, probably also blown out of proportion though. I dont think real people actually care about these things. Except the OP of this thread, I guess.

I swear I only encounter this stuff on the internet. Where people post their opinions on twitter and sites. It gets inflated in the digital world. But I never see it in real life.

6-eyed also. But yes, that most of his sources and research on these lunatics is done on the internet has most likely something to do with it.

While I haven't seen the "War on Christmas" in real life, I do see the terms "Happy Holidays" and "holiday party" a lot more than I used to

Yeah but everyone has it all backwards as far as who is actually taken offense

The only people I see getting offended are people getting offended by the lack of the term Christmas

The whole thing is silly. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas are interchangeable, they always have been. I've always heard the term happy holidays used, no one cared until Fox news and friends stirred the pot

the smart solution would be for the cleveland indians to drop chief wahoo and change their mascot to this:

If you pronounced Christmas as Christ-mas, then maybe non Christians would be offended. But since you don't, anyone offended is just being offended for the sake of being offended.

It's Christmas and I'm not a Christian, but it's still Christmas. I don't do this happy holiday shit. More like grumpy holiday anyway everyone gets the shits.

    No presents for you!

I also think if you dont want to celebrate Christmas then you should go to work and have to work. No point having a day off for something you don't believe in. Lol but we know that won't happen because everyone is a fan of Christmas holidays. :p

If it were me though, I'd be sending their stooge arses to work as a reminder, don't be an intentional whinging smart arse.

You’re simply not going to believe this one:

College of the Holy Cross in Worcester Massachusetts is considering changing the name of its mascot The Crusader so they don’t offend the Muslim Community

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?

The problem is that this outrage culture from the internet spills over and has catastrophic affects in real life. Like those girls who got death threats for cooking burritos while being white. Or Justine Sacco and how her career and personal life was ruined by the internet’s reaction to her bad tweet

I always liked the idea of your American thanksgiving. Looks so nice in films. I don't know anything about it historically.

What! You crazy?! Silence this woman! Days off without feeling any obligation to partake in festivities are the best!

Native Americans aside, it really is a great holiday where families get together and sit down and enjoy each other’s company. The meal is so large and has so many courses that it genuinely takes time to complete. It’s starts off with the appetizers, followed by the main course and the cutting of the turkey, then comes the desert usually 5 of 6 different types of pie. Everyone too full to move so a half a dozen conversations start to breakout while coffee, wine, or apple cider, is served along with mixed nuts.

After the meal the men head to the living room to watch Football, while the women continue to sit around the table and talk while slowly bringing the plates to the kitchen.

Or at least that's what my family does...

This reminds me of The Wasingtonians. It's a movie about the old values and customs back in the day when America was established. ...they were cannibals. The movie was very good, it belongs to the Masters of Horror- series.

    This is ridiculous.
There wasn't thanksgiving when Jesus lived, and he wasn't in America.

So silly. Much like your "Jesus didn't celebrate birthdays" argument.

You know what else Jesus didn't do?
    Go to Kingdom Halls.
    You do.

Jesus also didn't use the internet.
    You do.

Jesus didn't get married and then divorced.
    You did.

Jesus didn't post on HF (and probably wouldn't).
    We do.

Let people have their birthdays, it's not that big of a deal.

You like to feel righteous, but you're so full of it.
