    Altitude is a major factor in this state right now. Yesterday in Winston-Salem, the temperature reached 90 F. I spent this afternoon in the mountains near Boone, elevation 3000+ but only 1.5 hours west, and it never made it up to 70.

    It is 106 today and supposed to be over a 100 for the next 5 days..
