That will happen . It could be too late for the Ukraine . I can only see the cities lasting another week tops . Then its guerrilla warfare.
Thats the time it will stat costing Russia in tying troops down for policing duties of the cities and trying to hunt for an invisible enemy which will be on the move and constantly knocking off Russian troops and material

A silent supporter of Russia ,whilst not trying to go against the West . Trying to sit on the fence I think.

I am sure they voted with Russia at the UN the other day .

A lot of the military equipment they obtain is from Russia including T90 tanks

Another update on companies leaving the Russian market .

A different aspect of this war compared to others and quite an effective one if given time .

Without resorting to an 'ad hominem' response, and in deference to Captain, I'll just say, "I think you're wrong."

It truly is one of those rock/hard place situations but I do believe its been exacerbated by his lack of foresight and just the fact that he is clearly past his prime

As one of the professional economic academics pointed out the other day, "He's going to be damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. I would not want to be in his shoes."

    And so it begins.

BTW, the big oil companies have months ago already bought and stored oil for refining before all this. They're raising prices at the pump now purely for profit-making for shareholders in the 'next quarter'.

    NOW, back to Ukraine situation.

Stopping Russian oil will raise energy costs in the U.S.

And now to military matters more my thing than politics ................

This was just announced in the UK Parliament by the Defence Secretary Ben Wallace that Star Streak Missiles are to be supplied in small numbers to the Ukrainians to increase there air defence .It was supported by the Shadow Defence Minister as well. This needs however to be agreed by other Nato members.

To me this is a step upwards compared to Stingers which are fired from the shoulder. I wonder how far we are away from supplying Patriots ?

One last comment. The US gets about 5% of its imported oil from Russia. That's 5%. That's 1 out of 20. Biden has already opened up the 'Strategic Oil Reserves' stored down here in Louisiana to fill any gap. There are already 9,000 'permit-to-drill' in place for oil companies to work on, as well as well as their already tanked reserves.

The US public is so cocked-and-ready to blame 'the damn g'uvmint' for anything, they can't even see when they're being 'Taken for a Ride' by bullshit artists!

NOW, back to the Ukraine situation.

Just now see the the US has 'refused to accept' the Polish jets at the AFB in Germany. Wonder again, if this is part of the 'dog-and-pony-show' for public consumption.

On CNN this morning the US Gen, once 'Commander of NATO Forces in Europe', said, 'If this could have happened without being disclosed,... But that's the cost of living in an 'open society' with 'freedom of the press'.

There is surely some serious thinking and work going on 'behind the scenes'. The allied forces commanders are not idiots. We can only hope.
