This video is all about StarStreak . This is the anti aircraft missile THe Brits are supplying to the Ukrainne in all forms including the announcement of the supply of Storm AFVs .A small clip of the latter is also seen in the video . Make me proud to be British
Some footage is slowly coming out of the Donbas Region . Here a column of Russian Tanks is attacked .
Too add a bit of balance . This is a clip of a Russian artillery in action. These are very big guns and are capable of firing a tactical nuclear warhead . The Brits are supplying counter battery radar systems so that they can pin point the locaton of these batteries enabling the Ukrainians to respond in kind .
That the Russians are struggling so much in Ukraine means to me that if the US was actually involved in that war as combatants--especially our air force----the Russians would be defeated completely in about a week.
The only advantage the Russians have are 1) Weight of numbers . A Formal declaration of war would give Putin mobilization powers . Russia has a lot of obsolete kit in storage but fowwlowing behind their regular forces , sheer numbers would make them still useful. 2) Tactical Nuclear Weapons - Still very much part of the Russian doctrine would be the use of these of which the West fears . Backed against a wall I could see their use . The US along with Nato members ditched tactical nuclear weapons after the Cold War ended.
Russia keeps threatening to use nukes---they don't seem to understand that if they use them----especially against the US ---they will be incinerated.
This report gives much more hard information than US news outlets. We get more of the human tragedy angle.
When the war in the South Atlantic over the Falkland/Malvinas Islands occurred, it lasted a short time and had relatively few casualties and destruction. That was due to the great disparity of forces between Argentina and the UK, since Argentina did not receive help from anyone. By this I mean, that drawing an analogy with Ukraine vs Russia, I wonder if the great help that Ukraine is receiving is not acting like a boomerang.
I'm sure the conflict would have ended sooner if Ukraine received no help and Russia simply was able to have its way with the people. Then what? Moldova?
Just a little thought to give everyone a bounce in their step today... News outlets are talking about how the US gave Ukraine coordinates & intel to sink the Moskva last month, but US officials are 'officially' denying it because they don't want to provoke Putin. BUT According to Putin, the Moskva sank because of... um... a mysterious fire, right? lmao So Putin has to keep his mouth shut. I can feel the steam coming out of his ears halfway across the world
It depends on what level . Tactical - No - These wouldnt reach the US . These are nasty but locally applied. Think in terms of an artillery shell from a big gun such as this If one of these was used with a nuclear shell that would take a village or part of a battlefield ,then there would be consequences but not whole scale nuclear war . The use of one of these would in my view cross the red line and bring NATO into the conflict proper .At the moment this conflict is being fought as a proxy war like many other previous conflicts whereby none of eh Super powers are in direct conflict with each other As long as that status quo the world will be relatively safe from all out world conflict. . ICBMs - Yes - but then the use of these would doom mankind for ever . My only worry here is if Putins back is against the wall and if he is mentally unstable he could resort to their use . The only saving grace here is that there are different levels of command that this needs to be cascaded down and the process takes about 50 minutes . It just needs one of these commanders to have the bottle and question his order.. There was a "broken arrow " event in the 80s ,when a wrong signal was sent by the US indicating an ICBM had been launched by them . Thankfully a lowly Soviet Colonel realised this and had the bottle to halt the process of the Soviet Nuclear Response .The US confirmed it was an error a little later . The safeguard is the lines of communication that are held open between the super powers .
That could be the Wests media hype and hopeful thinking . I would only believe this if it came from Russian sources and was verified .
Yes I agree . There is a Turkish News channel I listen to as well . There is less hype from these news outlets and gives a more balanced and truthful approach . I have already fallen into that trap once regarding Finlands entry into Nato .
I have seen this incident analysed by a few military experts . Modern ships do not catch fire like that . The crews of all navies are well drilled in anti fire measures and have firefighting teams that regularly exercise. The analysts conclusion looking at where the fire was started ,is that the ship was hit by 2 missiles . These are likely to be Ukrainian manufactured Neptune anti ship missiles like the ones pictured below and launched from a mobile ground based launchers. They are designed to home in on where there is the most metal on the target ship . This is where the ships own missiles are kept and this is where the fire was started . This was an embarrasement for the Russians and couldnt hide the fact that the ship was badly crippled and finally sunk . So they had to make something up to con their own people in effect so as to lesson the blow and the likely public outrage ,
Belarus need to keep their beak out of this conflict . Their President is already on a tight rope with is people who are against this war . If you are betting for a coup ,then this is where I would place my money on . More likely him than Putin .
