Yeah the whole thing doesn't add up.

I like the atmospheric music they've started using this season though, you have to think of it as a TV adaption of a comic book.

I liked that last episode with Tara,

Negan is a good psycho-baddie but he his patter has started to annoy me a little.

At the end of the day there's only so much you can do with the whole premise, and it surprised me when they decided to run a spin-off series.

the one thing i liked about the spin off is you get to see another part of the country and you got to see how it all began.....ok the two things i liked about the spin off.

anyway now fear is just something to do for an hour a week on the off season.

How about a spin-off based in another country?

if there was enough interest i think it would happen but unfortunately the ratings are barely supporting the spinoff. even the ratings of the main show have dipped to its worst in several years, so as much as i would like to see it i dont think there is a big enough market for it.

I think the general premise is always going to be a winning formula, not necessarily with zombies but an apocalypse appeals to a mass audience on two accounts. It's both horrifying and utopian because it means no more government, no more police. You can do what you want now...

I've always loved disaster movies, we all like to watch people finding themselves in the middle of a big scary unexpected event and watch them freak out and scramble to survive.

I think the reason FTWD hasn't really worked is because the writers are shit.

The only reason TWD has survived 8 years is because, just as in Lost, they keep introducing new characters.

    Same with any series.

Anyone remember Survivors? The BBC series that ran a few years ago that was a reboot of a series that ran originally in the 1970's on the BBC.

Basically TWD but without the zombies. Sudden virus wipes out 99% of the population, whole world goes to shit, good people versus bad people. It was really good, but the fucking BBC decided to cancel it after the second series. The last scene showed them gettting taken away in helicopters to some island or something, it was a real edge of the seat cliffhanger and the fucking BBC cancelled it and put their resources into some other shit about an exoplanet or something.

Anyway, a different part of the world with new characters and stories could revive the franchise, because it is a franchise now really.

How about an anthology series? Each individual season happens in a different part of the world, zombies and whatever drama they can come up with.

The TV companies are always too afraid to be a bit more adventurous with these things, it's all boards of directors sitting in rooms discussing where to go from here, and rarely they are willing to take a gamble on something that might not work.

Thank fuck for indie film producers is all I can say.

i saw that show and loved it, i tried to get my TWD friends to watch it and when they heard it wasnt american they all said "nah ill pass"

americans are way too close minded. i dont know how much interest the rest of the world provides.

  7. Man, I would have loved Game of Thrones if it weren't for the gratuitous sex scenes. From what I'm told, they make the whole thing seem more realistic for some people. For me that's the problem. Your show has fucking dragons. Sex scenes seem absolutely ridiculous in this context. And they're so graphic. It's hard for me to take a show seriously scene for scene when I know somewhere in the country a guy jacked off to the last scene I watched. I don't want any part of that action.

There aren't that many sex scenes in Game Of Thrones.

Suprised America hasn't done a remake of Survivors TBH owing to it's "success" but then I suppose you have TWD

You say True Blood. We say Being Human.

Then you say Being Human Us version and totally fuck it up

Some people tried, and failed, and died for it:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20_July_plot

Following these failures, only the most loyal of the loyal were ever allowed to so much as even look at him without getting shot. And those that were loyal to Hitler were so to a fault, basically seeing him as this Godlike, messianic figure who was not to be touched. The human mind for many simply works that way, they want a strong leader to follow, someone who does their thinking for them.

As for Negan, despite the cruelty of his regime, many people no doubt still see him as a bringer of stability and order in a world gone to shit, and many scared sheeple will often choose that over the right to think for themselves. And many simply benefit greatly from sucking up to him, often the more dangerous types that you don't wanna mess with, so Negan is guaranteed to have strong protectors. This is how all dictatorships are run. Notice how there's a strong command hierarchy present, a system that guarantees you your daily bread (for the elites at least), and rules that are actually enforced that seem to maintain order. To many, that system is simply too good to throw away, considering the alternative.

Haven't read the book but know what it's about because I'm currently living the future predicted by another of Orwell's book.

    It's just Animal Farm?

I might read it someday, just can't find the time

Other than than what he said above me

    Really?

I dont really remember all that many in GoT

  13. Honestly I didn't make it past the first episode where a brother was butt ramming his sister while a kid watched. Somehow the butt banging two seconds before kind of ruined the suspense of the kid falling out the window.

That blood all over our heroes thing.....YA I always wonder how can that be good. Then one might think that perhaps our heroes could at least become zombified by so much of the zombie blood splashing in their faces and on their wounds getting onto mucous membranes and the eyes and nostrils. Well, if it was me I wouldn't want it.

OH and I NEVER thought about winter and freezing - yes that would have to help out, Frozen Zombies should be easy to kill and not all the blood splashing because it's frozen.

In Helsinki in the spring when the snow melts, all the frozen dog shit melts too.

I say keep going north to Alaska, it'll be like the end of The Shining everywhere, plus all the supermarket stocks will be frozen so plenty of mushy peas for the winter.

I'm not really knowledgeable about snow but I've heard one advice that sounds pretty sound "Don't eat yellow snow."

    Ok back to the show:

Is it just me or do others think this season sort of sucks? It feels so anti-climatic and at the end of each episode I just think to myself "Is this the best that 'they' can do?".

I sure hope this is building up to something really good or this might be my last season of viewing. I mean the first episode was great but then, meh.

well we know that none of those "towns" can beat negan but together if they join forces they can. so they have to show these places so its not like just one episode and all these new people come from out of nowhere. so they need to show some slow shit to build to the negan fight but yeah they sure are taking their damn sweet old time doing it,
instead of a single show to stay under budget they seemed to have done the whole season that way,,,,and the ratings reflect that

What do you guys want, a weekly zombie attack? Why don't you just play Left 4 Dead instead.
