yeah it's true. people wear the peace sign and have no idea that it was originally used as a symbol for nuclear disarmament. They just wear it cuz they associate it with the 60's.

Perhaps the peace symbols started as simply meaning nuclear disarmament, but because of the 60s era and activism it has grown and changed to what it symbolizes now. At its core, it is simply love and peace. it is a symbol that will never die or be diluted. So long as its out there in whatever form, it lives with his message of peace.

But there are many people who flash the symbol for fashion. Many people who do not understand the meaning behind it. There are many people who wear the symbol, but act entirely opposite of the meaning.

    Alright, you got me there.
But wouldn't you agree that there are lots of people who wear the peace symbol, but are not peaceful people?

yeah but the reason they made the symbol the way that it is is that is stands fo Nuclear Disarmament

the result when you over lap the two symbols is the peace symbol.

That's true, but maybe look at it a different way. Even if someone IS wearing it for the wrong reasons, you know that you believe in it for the right ones. This peace sign thing is a fad, and will most likely pass. But BELIEVING in the peace, that's what's important.
