It's a word.
It can be used in many different situations, contexts, by different people-- for different reasons.
For instance, I loved being called a slut.

 

so is Fuck.
And it is used in many sentences, and it is also negative. You could loose your career if you used that word against someone.

Actually, you could loose you're career if you called a woman a slut by joking,
"hahah Joanna you slut!"

But you're a boy. Like I said in my earlier post, that word has never and never will have the same connotations for a man as it does a woman. Part of the reason is the disgust behind it. Men don't respect sluts, but more often than not will take what they offer and then think they're trash because they gave it. Women don't think like that. We might call you a player, but never a slut in the same context as it it's given to women. It has to do with worth.

 

Point being, some women enjoy being called a slut in certain circumstances--- like when I'm ramming my big misogynistic penis into them.
So not always is it meant offensively.

I call my friends whores all the time. I call my mom a dirty whore. None of them sleep around and so no I don't see it as a bad thing.

If a girl gets offended because I call her a whore then I take it that she is one in the literal sense....and so I will give her a condom for Christmas.

 

If you give a whore a condom you save them from having an infested child once.
Now, if you teach a whore to make condoms... well, there you go.

this isn't really related to the question being asked.. but Saturday night my friends Julian and Ryan said "Priss is like the least sluttiest girl".. because we were talking about some of our girl friends and how they let themselves continuously be used by guys that really just don't give a fuck about them. (AKA, they are sluts)

I was glad that they said that. I really think slut is a negative word, and a disgusting way to be. I think self-respect is important... and if you're a slut you probably don't have any.

It's semantic and variable. Why discuss words when what's really in question here is attitudes toward female sexuality?

It's the same with "bitch", "nigga", "hoe", etc. All words are dependent on context...and all derogatory words can be affectionate words, or badges of honor, etc. depending on by whom it is said (usually intra-group) and to whom and in what context.

But all that's beside the point. I don't use the word slut at all because to me the connotation is, "Women can't have a lot of sex."

Since I've been sex-starved all my life, it would run counter to my interests to advocate that girls cross their legs and play Virgin Mary.

But I do use the word "bitch" freewheelingly, and that's because I deal with self-centered, pretentious, materialistic, airhead bitches a lot.

One thing that hasn't been discussed here I don't think is that some women call themselves sluts as a way to oppose social expectations. "Yeah, I'm a slut. So wha?"

The idea being, "I can have sex whenever and with whom I want."

So, they are using the word but reversing the value-judgment connotation of the word because they value sexual freedom and not virginity and commitment.

 

I think it's degrading to women.

Although, "****" may be to women, as "dick" is to men, and f'kn hell, I use that word enough.

But still.. My least fav.
