Kind of. As long as there's still real rock bands getting halls full with fine crowds (with me among them, haha), I couldn't care less about those preppy rock shit though. Only thing that keeps bugging me are all those people who think, that because of all the shitty rock on the radio and tv, good rock has to be dead. Especially Black Sabbath fans have nothing to complain nowadays.
I see what your sayin man, I know that rock isnt dead its just a shame that those bands get the credit wait scratch that....real Rock bands could care less about notoriety or what people or producers think is good theyre just out there to make the walls vibrate and your ears bleed and by the way Sabbath is the king of bad ass
Exactly! And there is still a lot of rock doing precisely what they (and we) want. Fucking rock 'n roll. And there are also enough people enjoying that. Look at the Roadburn festival for example, it's already sold out since a few months and it takes place in april. They have Blue Cheer as a headliner and a lot of newer bands that also just want to rock. They don't care if they're underground, they still have solo's over 5 minutes and they sure will let the walls vibrate with their fuzzy guitars (especially the friday night, saturday has a lot of doom/stoner bands). I just can't believe people sometimes who are so complaining about the absence of good rock, they miss all the good stuff because they obviously aren't looking in the right places.
Nirvana makes me cringe. I can't believe I forgot to add them to my list. I would add all of the emo bands, as well, but I don't consider them metal or hard rock.
You're obviously very uneducated in the "90's music" area, especially f you think that those two albums represent brittney spears in the 90s. Taking this, and other threads into consideration, I've concluded that you're a moron. Cease and Desist.
"Kurt Cobain was the Britney Spears of the 1990's?" What other era was Britney Spears from (well, besides today, if one would even count that)? Also, in what way was their music similar? I dislike Nirvana, too, but I have to agree with Metallideth about that one. That comparison is beyond faulty.
I hated Metallica too, long ago because all these comparison to Maiden and only Maiden..But they are very good..For worst band ever there is MCR,Tenacious D,BFMV.. These are the best in this category...and I forgot Tokio Hotel...
Funny you say that, I whacked 'Silver Side Up' on last night just by chance and I gotta say they have some decent tunes!
I don't really see that much wrong with Nickelback either, music-wise. I don't listen to them actively but I have to say I don't completely understand why the whole world seems to be so against them.
I think it's fair to say that many people fucking hate Metallica under present day circumstances, including myself. I'm referring to the direction they've gone in and the change for the worse. Was there ever a point where you liked them, coz old Metallica and this new shit are on totally different levels. Either way, you might hate them but they're definitely not the worst band ever, they are talented as fuck and have proved themselves to be true music writers.
