Here we go! (This will also include singers) Britney Spears, Busted, Nelly, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, Human Nature (what the hell makes them think they can sing motown?!?!?). Snoop Dogg, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff (WTF makes them think actors turned preppy singers are cool?). Akon. Basically any Top 40 music and people who don't write their own music and just sing something someone else has got paid to write.

Many horrible bands, especially nowadays where its about image, not music. But the one that takes the cake in my eyes is Theory of a Deadman, for 3 simple reasons:

1-The music plain out sucks, the singer sounds like he fries cheese at some crappy diner in Arkansas, not the cool parts of Arkansas, but the scarry murderer trucker-ridden NASCAR dominated parts. He just sounds like crap. And the guitars suck too, I myself dont play guitar, nor have I ever really tried (too common, give me a balalaika) and yet I feel that I could outplay everyone in that band.

2- I had to listen to one of their cd's a total of 6 times in a row one day during a 12 hour shift at work, and I thought that by the end of it I would have commited Arson, Murder, and Suicide just to make my ears feel better. I would rather listen to a cd entitled "The 20th centuries loudest instances of electrical feedback" than that cd.

3- They try to have a cool sounding name, like something you would find in a cool Indie post-rock band, and yet they fail miserably. You know what I mean, the name being an abstract incomplete sentence like "Explosions in the Sky" or "A Silver Mount Zion" but those names have a meaning at least, and they sound cool, and most importantly, listening to their music isnt a form of torture practised by the Chinese army. what the hell is the theory of a deadman? is the dead mans theory that even though he has been dead for some time, he is still a more capable musician than that band? Thats my theory, FDR could release a better album than these guys.

And yet there is one person out there who disgraces music more than any other band or group ever could....John Ashcroft.

eh now i know this is gonna get some negative comments but, I think Hanson was/is a good band. For them all being brothers and playing their own tunes since a very very young age. I started out being a fan when i was 9 and i have stuck with them lol

I dont listen to them as much as I did in the day infact Im sure I havent listened to them in over a year but I have remained a fan.

I can't believe good old Vanilla Ice hasn't been spoken of! Ugh he's retarded. The Ramones, all of there songs sound the same to me. Insane Clown Posse, I used to like them(I know I'm a dork) but the more you listen to it the more you hate it. There's some guy named Tiny Tim. If you have iTune and the little music store thing, look him up. He's so bad it's funny. I'm not that big on country music...Some of the emo type bands are okay (From First to Last). But F.O.B gets on my nerves. Bowling For Soup makes me wanna rip my eyes out. My friend loves them. She forced me to listen to them for 4 hours straight...I was about to tear her head off. There is a song out right now (country)Called "Honkytonk Badonkydonk". Oh dear god...I want to kill something when I hear that. That and "My Humps". Ew. That's my worst music ever.

  7. uuuuuuuuuurgh my God! Ice Ice Baby is the greatest song ever, I just love the opening line, 'stop, collaborate and listen'. DOn't bag my man vanilla again or tommorow night might be the next drive by on your house brother.

Emo bands are the worst bands of all time.

But Pink Floyd is the worst of all

Creed was terrible, that's all there is too it. Stapp, when not trying to look like Christ, ripped Eddie Vedder off terribly. He even poses like Stapp. Pathetic.

I noticed Creed before they reached their peak and hit the mainstream. They had good, simple lyrics and rhythm. Their problem, similar to Evanescence, is that they hit the mainstream and lost some of their luster. Most rock bands, if they cannot compensate with certain lasting qualities, need to keep a certain edge yet remain accessible to the public. There just wasn't anything risque about Creed, nothing truly innovative. They were a good band, and it's nice to hear their music now and then.

That's because their early music was faith-based and very few people take an interest in that. It's also why Stryper couldn't make it mainstream.

Korn, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, etcetera. I think anyone can finish this list.

I'd have to say Poison and Kiss may be some of the cheesiest music I've ever heard.

    Finger Eleven.
Not only is it a ridiculous name, but they're also awfully whiny and repetetive. How many lines can you make to rhyme with the same word/sound?! "If I figured it Ou-out/If I knew all abou-out/If I heard abou-out/what I can't figure ou-out/blah blah blah ou-out/blah blah abou-out/That one thing/oh, that one thing"
Sorry, don't know the lyrics (thank goodness) but that's about the gist of it.

I would have to also side w/those anti-Creed peeps, as well as the anti Britney/boy bands/some jam bands/ICP peeps.

    But what's with the anti-Megadeth?!
They're one of my favorites! They got me through high school. (Although their last oh, I don't know, 4 or 5 albums just blew.)

You are seriously mistaking, if you think that the Peter Gabriel era of Genesis was bad. That was probably some of the best prog rock to come out of the 70's. It's only when Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett left the group that they truly went to musical (although oppositely commercial) ruin.

And for anybody who says that Phil Collins sucks... As a singer/songwriter, yes I totally agree with you!!!! But you probably haven't heard his amazing skills as drummer in the early Genesis repretoir. He was an amazing drummer, and also sounded good singing backup to Peter Gabriel, and even on the first two albums where he became the lead singer in place of Gabriel were great, but once again it was Steve Hackett's departure that made Phil Collins/Genesis suck. Although I do think that 'In The Air Tonight' is a good song. That is pretty much where Phil Collins begins to suck around 1981.

I'm not saying you do this but I can't stand it when people say with authority and assurance "There is nothing good these days." There is indeed A LOT that is good these days, you just need to work harder to find it. There are plenty of jam bands, indie rock bands and some post rock/ambient bands doing incredible things these days with musicianship that is amazing. So refrain from saying EVERYTHING sucks until you truly explore all music has to offer (I would suggest a good ten hours on allmusic, haha)

And people who say indie rock sucks - why? GIVE REASONS. What bands have you listened to? Get past "bright eyes" (who do suck) and actually listen to indie. Because anyone who has ACTUALLY given that genre a chance know it is very diverse with lots of good bands

I agree, the first few albums are awesome. Nice bluesy stuff.

And good call on genesis. Good prog rock but as I delve deeper into the late 60s to mid 70s prog rock genre I find MANY bands that are much more enjoyable. Especially in the fusion area of prog. www.progarchives.com is incredible for finding new music.
