I dont see how they can be elitist if they're basically on the bottom of society.

 

I know, they are total hypocrites, they totally defeat the purpose of being outcasts. If you're trying to create a counterculture to a cruel and inhumane society, at least learn to be a good person yourself.

If you are trying to defend the music go ahead, but don't ever say the Sex Pistols are overrated if you listen to emo

Well, no shit. But I don't see how you can attack their music and actually defend EMO. The Sex Pistols have gone down in the history books as one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. I can't make any prediction for an emo band coming anywhere close. Emo is about thinking you're as deep as a 6 inch slab of concrete when you're really as thin as paper (thanks cesar2 for that quote). Or maybe i should put it this way Emo music is about as fake as pamela anderson's breasts but at least pamela will be the first one to admit it

 

I can't see many Radiohead fans doing that.

I believe I said it was someone's right to say they liked emo.
I also believe I said that the music in emo is often good but the vocals are usually lame and soppy.

So this is about the point of the argument where you're stuck for real evidence and pick on hypocrisies in my previous posts. Sorry to get all writhed up about something so trivial, but placing any Emo band in higher steed than the sex pistols is blasphemy and you'll have to answer to me if you spread such twaddle

 

I apologize, I missread your post before, apparently you are agreeing with someone who said that not all emo lyrics are about killing yourself and being depressed. My mistake.

I never said any emo band was better than the Sex Pistols, I just said they were overrated. I think Nirvana is incredibly overrated too, but I still like their music.

Woops... sorry, I misread... I read on http://www.allmusic.com, that he was fired, because he really didn't fit in with their style, and he was more into the mod-style music (ie. The Small Faces) instead of the Beatles.

Emo's are taking over. They must be stopped now while they are few in numbers. What we need is some bright colours and general cheer, then they will shrivel like leech's under salt.

 

and if they are emo (EMOtional), why are they allways sad? happy is an emotion too.

 

I am proposing drive-by assaults with colourful tins of paint. They won't be hard to hit because they're always in tight possies.

Everybody else get depressed and dress emo, then it will become "mainstream"

Go around with a dictaphone and start yelling in their faces: "You are not cool, you are not better than anyone because you are depressed, you are in fact, WANKERS"
