Yet the person is giving their support to one side even when they don’t even know what’s been talked about?

Think about that.

I do see this as a problem of wider politics people are giving support to others NOT because they understand the issues but because the person is on ‘their’ side.

I’ve noticed this in the ‘like’ option – when I give a like I know why I’m doing it and if asked I could explain why I’d gave the like but I think many, especially on the right here, seem to hand out ‘likes’ not because they understand the argument or the issues but just because the person is of their ‘tribe’ and when asked they haven’t a clue why they actually like the statement.

It just comes across as zombie support, brainless and empty and based on nothing but blind and unquestioning bias.

 

No seriously I haven't read any posts to determine whether or not I want to enter into an argument.

 

I usually like a post if I know what the person is trying to say. I will like a post whether I agree with it or not too. I also like posts based on something I may have laughed at or something so don't think too much into my likes.

I like sad posts, not because I like the person is sad, but just as an acknowledgement that I read it and I feel it... You get a like for that. So while I may fall into the catagory of handing out likes, it's just who I am and how I try and socialise online I guess.

Sometimes I feel like people like other people's posts in hopes that someone will see that and get a little hurt or sad. Like if your friend likes a post from someone who's arguing with you for some reason. I feel that often enough on here but you just gotta see through that.

Correct I'd not read anything until I told him to stick to his guns. Cause I like VG and he reminds me of me so I said don't let em change ya VG, cause I know what this place is like and well I hope he got that too.

Living with myself is mighty easy, I'm completely comfortable in my own skin, I'm not ashamed of who I am and I don't particularly care what anybody else thinks so whether or not you take anything I say seriously is pretty bottom rung for me. I'm only about a bit of fun, I've always been about a bit of fun anyway, I can't take this too seriously or else I might end up like some y'all and I don't want that to happen.

I don't really read threads maybe the way you do. I tend to read the final comment and go from there. But you're not going to get under my skin if that's what your trying to go for by putting me down for being the person I am.

 

In some threads yeah. I don't know what's happening in this one though.

I think everybody is guilty of speaking in topics they didn't read and weren't interested in. For me it's the traffic. Recent post. That's where the interaction is. Am I wrong? Not in this case.

Trolling. Maybe. I've been called a troll on more than one site now and I don't really post any differently so maybe I am just a troll. A cute troll though.

I've found I'm not the only one to form similar opinions about things.. So that tells me I'm not alone and I've felt that here too. So I can't all be bad. And then sometimes I sit here and wonder why the fuck you guys actually read any of the shit we post and why it takes so much enthusiasm to argue against any of it and it can only be because they're worth while arguments and often very solid and there's that little bit of doubt in everyones minds... That we might actually be right.

 

I had a small purple haired troll like that and it was very small and it hung from my pencil case zip. I was very attached to that troll through new country and school etc. I do not know where it is. Funny thing is I remember seeing it when I got all my stuff to move out of home and I would have kept it somewhere...

Just because people share your opinion to certain extent doesn't mean it can't be utter nonsense or totally bad..

But you're basically talking about stuff from a 100% hypothetical viewpoint, as you don't follow the news or the actual topic. So people who see you disagree with the more serious/sensible people in a thread are happy to like your posts/kiss your ass because it makes them also look more credible (or so they think/pose). I think there are too much trolls on these topics lately. So if you're doing it just to annoy and disturb... You're basically being pathetic. Having 'fun' at the expense of others who wanna have a good convo.
They often react to you because we're trying to take you seriously btw. As you just as often crave as not. You whine a lot about your thoughts being dismissed as nonsense right away: well, i hope you realize you caused that mindset in others yourself

 

And right there is why you get bad people into positions of power – oh I didn’t know he wanted to take away people's healthcare and give the money to the 1% he seemed a nice guy who reminded me of me so I voted for him….la la la
