I'd rather be me as well. I even prefer to be called normal then a hippie. Hippies on this forum seem to think it's a way of life and it's very individual, but they also seem to look at it as a group, and as it is with all groups, there are an awful lot of people in that group judging others in their group and even have an aversion against other groups, which most of the time is linked to a music genre. That aversion against groups of other people doesn't sound 'hippie' at all to me. Just let everyone find there own way. Hippies aren't a thing better or more special then other groups. On the contrary, most of them are just as hypocritical as other people, and that when they're supposed to look for honesty, rightness and peace with their inner self, according to a lot of hippies. Despite this negative description I do love a lot of you! But for you, and not because of your hippieness. People who profile themself as a cliché hippie are just as cool as emokids, skaters or metalheads, in my opinion. I just have more in common with hippies, in general.
Haha, when I reread it now it does sound a bit harsh, but I think I do make myself clear why I don't want to be a hippie. Hippies are not the only people who love peace and love, good music and nature and stuff, and a lot of them on here seem to say you have to be a hippie for that. In fact I'm one of those persons who sees all the stereotypes and cliché's of a subculture and doesn't want to be part of that, but when I look unprejudiced I am a hippie as well, I'm afraid. I just don't want to be associated with all the hypocritical hippies who preach peace and love but have a large aversion against people who are not as enlightened and openminded as they are!
