Luckily I wasn't working on container ships - our cargo was liquid (albeit highly volatile) contained in flasks, so there was never any danger of getting hit by or crushed under moving cargo.

 

Oh he did, one guy did get his leg crushed.

Hubby is unwell, he has been referred to the hospital, I am not allowed to go with him!

 

Yes Candy darlin' I can quite believe it, 'elf & safety didn't exist when I was at sea, and it has taken some years after the Act to get some of the crews and dockyard workers to abide by it.

Oh it is because there is only one GP at our surgery!

Lousy Internet annoys me. I had a video call with the GP 3 attempts later I finally got through the appointment lol

 

Now the hospital phones and says it is only for Covid19 patients!!!
Back to the GP no answer!!!!

 

Don't get me started on cyclists, they NEVER admit they are wrong, I'm sick to death of them, I had an argument recently with a cyclist about why they think it's fine to ignore traffic laws, jumping red lights is a favourite one with them! I asked how he felt about if a cyclist ran a red light and got hit by a car, he replied that it would be the drivers fault for not looking! Well excuse me, but if I have right of way on a set of lights the only things I would expect to be jumping a red would be fitted with blue flashing lights and sirens. Cyclists want everything, yet want to provide nothing, I drive a car, I have a number plate, I also pay insurance, if I hit a cyclist and drive off I can be traced and a claim made against my insurance, however if a cyclist hits my car he can ride off and I have no way of tracing him, and if I did, he has no insurance to pay for the damage.

I had a right result on Saturday, however five minutes later would have been better, I'd have been out cutting the hedge by then so could have had a better nosey, lol.
Anyway the idiot who's been annoying me got arrested for stabbing someone, the police rolled up mob handed and dragged him off in handcuffs, not only that but they found a load of drugs as well, so maybe that call to the office bore fruit after all, hopefully he'll be away for quite a while.
