    i remember a time when you could get away with playing outside unsupervised.

    and those 'blackboards' are more computer screen/ whiteboard combos. they have 'markers' that draw in different colors on the screen, but actually have no ink. and using the computer you can load and watch videos, pause, circle points of interest, and move on, as well as loading what you put on the board into the computer. they are really nice, and remarkably useful in a society where most information is digital, and available on the internets. charts, detailed maps, etc are kind of a pain to draw on the blackboards of old.
    of course, all classrooms should remain 'backwards compatible' in case of power outage.
